Todays youth are useless for anything other than paying taxes and agreeing to nanny state domination of society.
I compare my childhood in the ‘50’s with that of today. It brings a tear to my eye, but worse, there’s no way to communicate it to the youth of today. It is a good time to be old.

It has nothing to do with the fact that they have to get a learner’s license now, and you can’t get a full license in some states until you’re 21.
Back in the day when dinosaurs roamed the earth, you could test at 16 and get your full license and away you go. But that was the Boomer age - today, boomers didn’t think their kids should have the freedom they had, so they don’t.
Between massive unemployment, spiking taxes and sticker prices shooting up to feed the unions, who can afford a car?
Nowadays they have small blocks (pushrod too!) with more horsepower than the big blocks of that age. I’ve often wondered what kind of horsepower a big block would have with modern tuned-port injection and other fancy stuff on it . . . we already know what kind of torque it’d have.

those six-cylinder Stangs get great gas mileage too - 30 mpg. Wouldn't that make them even MORE attractive to drive?
This article is about kids shunning cars.
Nanny cars, traffic cameras, GPS, strict OWI laws, parents willing to host their children’s sex indulgences - no reason for kids to like driving a car these days.
Not surprising, considering the economic realities facing our youth. Have you priced used vehicles, gas, and insurance recently?
Environmental and safety regulations have driven up the costs of cars, as well as the cost of their manufacture. Insurance rates for teen drivers are downright terrifying. Gas, while thankfully dropping like about every other commodity and potential investment vehicle, is still damned high.
Hell, even the laws regarding teen drivers have changed since you were kids. Some states don’t allow drivers under the age of 18 to drive after dark, or with more than one passenger in the car, or have other restrictions on driving that severely limit the usefulness of a driver’s license to a teenager.
As comforting as it might be for you to think that today’s youth are just totally worthless, the fact of the matter is decades of liberalism have been industriously chipping away at the foundations of the American way of life, and as a result our youth today are having to contend with a world that’s quite a bit different economically and socially than the one you grew up in. Many of the things that you enjoyed or even considered part and parcel of simply being an American are just not within feasible reach of today’s generation.
My 15 yo daughter has no desire to get a license. My friends are having the same problem with their kids not wanting a drivers license, just hoping that their parents will always be there to run them to the mall.
I have answered this little problem with the fact that I refuse to drive her anyplace that is not on the way or at a time that is convenient for me.
The best part is that I personally do not drive a car for most trips. I ride a bike unless it is absolutely necessary to take the car.

Just saying that base model Mustangs of today (which are still relatively affordable to this “generation” that are too “lazy” to get a license) have more horses than the small blocks of years ago. As far as the topic goes, looks to me like more high school/college brainwashing.
