Leading House Democrats say President Obama has a great opportunity to pass immigration reform next year if he keeps the White House, but warn his window to act will be short.
But with immigration reform gaining prominence in the 2012 presidential race - and with leaders in both parties conceding the system is broken - some top Democrats are hoping Obama would move aggressively on the issue in a second term.

If I was Hispanic I’d be insulted by this. I’d say to Obama: “What do you think I am; a political whore? Where have you been for the last 4 years? Now, because you’re horny for my vote you’re making me all these promises you say you’ll keep in your second term. Hit the road Jack.”
The only thing I can disagree with is that the window of opportunity is short.
Leftists will never give up until there is amnesty for all illegals. If they can’t get it passed in Congress, they will have the black robed thugs give it to them in the SC.
ABR’s want to destroy the GOP. That is the only logical explanation for the idea that a marxist kenyan is better for the country than the GOP nominee is.
It won’t work because money and votes will never flock to these vanity 3rd party candidates. But it is a lot fun strutting around and being a principled contrarian who is opposing the evil GOP-e.
I wonder how "hispanics" feel about that.
The only thing "broken" is our "leaders'" desire and will to enforce the law.
I wonder how “hispanics” feel about that.

From what I am seeing , they are ecstatic.
Definitely BULLETIN BOARD material!!
Problem is that Romney is not strong on Illegal Aliens, and, if he picks Marco “La Raza” Rubio....it will guarantee that we will have Illegal Alien Amnesty.
A vote for a Third Party Conservative will not matter if Rubio is the running mate.
More important will be to elect pro-American/anti-Amnesty people to the House and Senate. Obama will not be able to Executive Decision a lot of Amnesty things, so a strong House and Senate will keep major Amnesty issues from passing
We need people who are willing to secure the border AND deport all the illegal aliens. A lack of commitment to do either is Illegal Alien Amnesty
“There is no luxury to say there’s a bigger issue in front of us,” said Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.),
I guess this stupid POS has never heard of the National Debt.
Just give him space, open windows and enough horse heads and he’ll have his changed Amerika.
Obama bypassing congress in his own way has already passed immigration reform .His case by case study, indicated I think it was 300,000,or more, the dreamers, started out at 800,000, reports now have it at about 1.4 million. If I am Hispanic my biggest concern would be, chronically high unemployment, lower pay and rising health care costs. Immigration reform just increases these already high numbers.
