She’s right, of course. But everything is rationed now, by price. We can no more afford Cadillac health care for everybody than we can afford to give everybody Cadillacs. There is simply no way to pay for uncapped health care for everybody. Right now, cost is the regulating lever. Once there is an overflow of unmet needs, there will quickly be a shortage of available funds. Then the waits begin, followed shortly by the rationing and the denial of service.
Also people should mention this fact, if socialized medicine is so awesome, how come people aren’t flocking to Canada for treatment. I never hear anyone say “Im sick gotta go catch that flight to Canada.” People come here to the US from Canada and other European countries to get treatment for cancer and other diseases because due to rationed care, by the time they are diagnosed its already in late stages
