Mmmm. Our son has lived in Seoul for the last 3 years and maybe comes home a couple of wks/yr. He makes no income in this country and pays no income tax here. I wonder if he will be required to fork over money here?

My Dad has been living in Vancouver, Canada for the past 5 years taking care of my brother’s nieces and nephews and he never paid his taxes. The IRS should have audited him but nothing. The only thing he makes us do is check his stock tax forms when they come in and consult a tax atty. The attorney’s always tell him he has nothing to be concerned about except being a LA Kings fan in Canucks country.

I think there is a provision in Obamacare that requires people who live overseas to fork over $1,000 per year to contribute to Obamacare. You might want to check it out.

I imagine there are a lot of unpleasant surprises in this bill.
