Teachers Get Schooled

In a move that put local high school teachers back in the student seats, CSU Channel Islands teamed with experts from NASA to educate youths through their teachers.

About 15 teachers from schools in the Oxnard Union High School District spent the week of June 18 with science experts in the Promoting Educational Leadership Climate Science Summer Institute. Organizers hope to educate teachers on the issues surrounding climate change and ultimately to reach youths, according to Bill Patzert, a research scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

I don't know what was "taught" at this event -- the article carefully skirts the substance of the lectures. But to me it sounds a whole lot like Federal and California State tax dollars being spent to indoctrinate teachers on Gorebull Warming. The teachers will then indoctrinate their students about this junk science. Apart from James Hansen, does anyone have insight as to why NASA's so involved with this stuff?

Unfortunately, science is now taught be the dept of poltical science. We have few teachers qualified to teach science or math and are just teaching our kids “feel good” things about science. Scientists are learn science and math...we are falling behind because our kids don’t understand those concepts of reasoning.

I normally tell the neighborhood kids that bring up the subject of global warming that it is not true and their teachers are lying to them because they get paid extra. I haven’t heard back yet but I bet its causing those teachers some problems selling the lie.

Did they teach ansorption spectra? Percentage of CO2 caused by man vs nature? The carbon (life) cycle? The fraud prevalent in many aspects of AGW “research” and “settled science”?

You’re right. But I’m really curious about what NASA’s vested interest is in this pseudo science. A grant of over half a million dollars to indoctrinate young people is not only big money but very subversive. Our government has become the enemy of its citizens and taxpayers.
