House holds Holder in contempt over ‘Fast and Furious’ documents
The Washington Times ^ | June 27,2012 | By Stephen Dinan

The 256-67 vote amounted to a political spanking for Mr. Holder and President Obama, and 17 Democrats joined with Republicans in demanding the documents be released. Most Democrats, however, walked out in protest of the vote.

It marks the first time an attorney general has been held in contempt by a chamber.

But the White House dismissed the proceedings as a sideshow, and the vote does nothing to break the impasse, though it further poisoned feelings in an already bitterly divided chamber.

“No Justice Department is above the law, and no Justice Department is above the Constitution,” said House Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican.

Really? How much would you like to bet they are not brave enough to right thing and impeach and arrest him like the filthy criminal thug he is? He is responsible for the murders of hundreds of individuals both Mexican and American.

Good.

Holder is a contemptible little fascist toad ... Glad to see the House find him so.

Issa should pursue this matter to conclusion by all possible means. Arming violent drug cartels is a huge scandal, and should be publicly affixed to the Zero Administration with superglue and deck screws.

DId those who left the chamber vote before they left....Easy Spin: Didn’t want to support an illegal action, so they walked before the vote.

Democrats said they aren’t defending the gun-walking operation, but said
the committee should leave Mr. Holder alone.

Leave Eric alone!

I don’t know if it will do anything about Holder but it shows that at least the House GOP has a spine.

What I don't understand is that they are paid to represent their constituents and vote. Why aren't they called to task for this?

Well, let's see...

The 256-67 vote...
And that's 323 votes...435 members in the House...
About 100 votes missing. (snicker...they could only get about 1/4 to walk out)

Even if the vote went along party lines the Dems knew they couldn't stop it.

Pure theatrics.

Contempt means nothing unless he is actually taken into custody and his freedom restricted. Ask Charlie Rangel.

Good.

Has the GOP finally figured out that the Dems play for KEEPS while the Repubs play for BIPARTISANSHIP and COMPROMISE?

The GOP needs to wake up and realize that this is no longer a "reach across the aisle" type of government. This is war.

Their way of thinking is completely different from our way of thinking. Their view of the Constitution is anathema to our view. Their dream of utopia involves gummint checks for all and freedom for none. Our view, which rejects all utopian dreams, allows everyone the right and the ability to scrimp, save and struggle their way to prosperity and happiness, to fail if that be their lot, and to be left the hell alone.

Case in point ... has Harry Reid said ANYTHING that sounds even remotely "American" in the last year or two?

Thanx, but I’m still giggling over you caught ‘in action’ on the home videos you forgot to destroy. That was even funnier than your first bon mot, which I wouldn’t have thought possible.

Perhaps, and perhaps not.
Let's just wait and see what happens in the Senate, shall we.
Get the vote and then do the punishment.

Some say it's moot as the Dems rule the Senate...
Democrat - 51 seats
Republican - 47 seats

If just a couple of Dems drop part lines and vote for a contempt charge...what interesting times we live in.

Oops...1 Independent; 1 Independent Democrat
Can't forget Lieberman and Sanders.
I'd count those as "No" votes. Maybe 1 and 1 for a tie, at best.

And? The other half stayed.
Their votes are important to their constituents, aren't they?
