The "tea party" got a million people to protest at the Capitol on 9/12/2009.
Time for a "we mean it" sequel.
I needed my grandfather in my life, but during WW2 he decided the country needed him more, so I never had him.
We all need to learn how to live less comfortably and make sacrifices for the sake of our beloved nation.
Some people (not you, kelly4c!) -- I wonder if they'd quit their jobs and take up arms if the USA were bombed and invaded; or would they simply acknowledge and welcome the new overlords?
You are absolutely right. We are too comfortable to sacrifice for our future. If people could only realize how quickly we could have Congress overturning this mess. As Rush says, follow the money.
When?
Despite what some say on this board, it does matter to be there.
We need to win this November by inspiring our side to get to the polls -- the one silver lining in all this is that this ruling just might be the spark to make sure it happens.
FReegards!
I hear what you’re saying. I do have the passion for the good fight. I do wonder though....who would I be fighting for? The majority of the people in this country are reaping what they have sowed. We true Christians and conservatives are few and far between. I’m sorry, but the love for my sweet and innocent grandson and to be a positive influence in his life is looking to be worth more than risking my life for a nation full of Godless maroons. If we are invaded and women needed to take up arms I feel it would be my honor and duty. But to instigate bloodshed (quite likely my own!)I have reservations over.
I’m in. Let’s plan it and get talk radio to promote as much as possible. We need to take over DC.
Marching will not accomplish anything. Voting against Bambi it seems will not accomplish much. We are screwed unless someone stands up to lead a meaningful reversal. I don’t see that happening.
However, I am, and have been for quite awhile, ready to march on DC. I’ve been at my job for 20 years and most likely won’t be able to find a new one easily if I lose it but there comes a time when we have to make sacrifices when faced with tyranny. I hate that it’s come to this but it surely has.
No but I admire them. Army vet myself. If any of our Military units ever refused an order from the CinC it definitely would be on.
What's my attitude? I oppose Obama and his Demonrat-controlled senate, Obamacare, and the SCOTUS's Obamacare decison. But I do wonder whether our troops would fire on citizens. Not saying they would but they have in the past as in the 1932 Veterans' bonus protest and encampment in DC during which American troops fired on the vets, killing and injuring a number of them. The officer leading them was named McArthur.
Need someone to ride shotgun? (Pun intended!)
I was referring to working Americans living on the income they earn, with no other source, not those on the dole for whom the resources you mentioned are available.
The attitude of “why bother since they’ll call out the marines”. Whether they would call them out and whether or not they would decide to fire upon “us” is beside the point, IMO.
My attitude is take a stand, regardless of the consequences, and if I lose my life doing so, so be it.
The only problem is, it’s not going to happen as we have become too comfortable, fat and apathetic to “do the right thing”, and I believe our forefathers both did the right thing when necessary and hoped their offspring would follow their examples.
Unfortunately, we didn’t live up to their expectations.
Certainly!
Of course that's not exactly what I said.
I do think you’re right that it’s not going to happen (a confrontation between citizens and our Military).
By “a bad deal” I meant I would not want such a confrontation (with our military) to occur, not that it should never be risked.
I understand perfectly what you were referring to. I urge people to consider legally depriving the government of tax revenues by giving up income. Yes, of course people live on their income. Live less well. Live less comfortably. Seek alternatives, particularly those which would hasten the collapse of the existing, corrupt system. People who truly love this country will do something, sacrifice something, and (if I recall correctly) even risk their lives for it. And others will just whine and gripe at their keyboards.
Constitution Day is September 17. Just a suggestion.
