He was staunch conservative and active in politics.

For some odd reason I happened to think about that show yesterday, for probably the first time in 30 years. Weird.

Do you remember Uncle Bub before Uncle Charlie?

Thank you, I appreciate that but Daddy and we 5 children were the lucky ones.

Gosh. I always thought they started off in Illinois. Probably I conflated it with the sociology of mid-westerners migration to southern California in the 50’s.

"Wow, He was also an ORIGINAL Mousketeer!"

Who was the Mouseketeer honey who exited stage right when she began to pop her blouseketeer buttons?

Robbie, Katie and the triplets seem like 15 years past. It is hard to believe that it was so long ago.

Unbelievable, isn't it.

How about Mike (Tim Considine ,I think) before Ernie. Just like Adam Cartwright in Bonanza, the oldest son left after the first couple of of seasons. I think Tim Considine was the soldier George C. Scott slapped in Patton.

Do you remember Uncle Bub before Uncle Charlie?

".....and as Bub, William Frawley."

The storyline was that Bub and Charlie were brothers (their last name was "O'Casey.") William Frawley left the show due to poor health, and died shortly afterwards. Since nobody ever died on TV back then, it was explained that Bub decided to move to Ireland, with his brother, Uncle Charlie, moving in with the Douglas family as Bub's replacement.

In the earlier b&w episodes of “My Three Sons,” Grady (quite amusingly) played Robbie as a somewhat awkward, slow-witted kid. Sometime by the color episodes, he became more of a mister hip/cool-cat kind of guy. Which I guess paid off, because Robbie managed to acquire the fetching Tina Cole as his missus!
