The Oreo cookie brand has taken a new step into colorful territory. The company posted a photo featuring an Oreo cookie with multiple rainbow-colored creme filling on its official Facebook page.
The photo of the rainbow creme cookie included the words June 25″ and Pride, with a smaller notation of Made with creme colors that do not exist. The photo appears to be for entertainment purposes only; no plans to produce the cookie were announced.
Along with the photo, Oreo noted Proudly support love! Oreo also tweeted the photo from their official Twitter account, with the notation Celebrate your pride for love! No other posts or statements from Nabisco were posted, namely why a food company would step into the middle of such a controversial issue.
Within two hours of the photo posting, it had been shared nearly 20,000 times. Over 103,000 people liked the photo, and nearly 10,000 people commented on it.
The response to the ad among the pages 26.9 million fans has been fiercely divided, with thousands of shares and likes and a wave of apparent dislike
No mo’ Oreo!
It’s easy to give them up.
Who ever thought the day would come when perverts were given a month of “Pride by a US President!
How long before we have pedophile history month!
Adding it to my “gay” boycott list.
I really didn’t need any more reasons not to eat Oreos. I haven’t eaten one in thirty or forty years, I don’t think, unless maybe I got stuck on a picnic on some island out in the bay, and that was all there was for desert.
We need to take back the rainbow symbol as a childhood icon of happiness and innocence, not as a symbol of perverted sexual deviancy.
Guess the cover is blown on the Oreo cream filling.
Boycotts are a slippery slope.
When I started the store chain boycott list of FR, we ran out of places to shop pretty quickly.
Looks like it is far removed from the usual white “creme” filling. Wait a minute,.......
Too much of a resemblance to the color of fudge?
Yet another thing I have to tell my daughter she can’t have. She loves Oreos. No more, and I’m headed off to the grocery store. Guess I’ll have to look for an alternate.
I think there’s a spiritual component. In the Bible after the flood the rainbow is given as a promise from God that he will never destroy the world with water (note he doesn’t say anthing about fire). I think it’s a way of taunting God. They know they are doing something that warrants destruction but because a promise was made they think they can get away with it.
wow, the military, our food, our schools and our churches.... cockroaches.
Ya think Moochelle will be conflicted over all the extra sugar??
LLS
Tell you what, I will never again look with desire upon a fudge-packed Oreo cookie.
Just the white stuff from now on.
Or maybe no Oreos at all. Not like it would *hurt* me to give ‘em up.
I think they stole this idea from Fruit Loops.
