Barone is no better here than your average condescending liberal who makes excuses for blacks voting for blacks.

Barone is saying, in a delicate way that won't get him excommunicated like John Derbyshire, that blacks aren't voting for Obama because he's black - they're voting for him because he's a Democrat, the party of racial preferences and freebies. If Obama had gotten the GOP nomination and run as a RINO, he would have gotten the same % of the black vote as other black GOP candidates - 10%. Blacks stepped all over Clarence Thomas during the judicial confirmation process despite the fact that he was black - they understood all too clearly that his nomination would not advance the cause of more freebies and more racial preferences for blacks.

I've been waiting for an opportunity to use a quote by Gustave Le Bon. Le Bon, in The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind, wrote over a hundred years ago about the madness of crowds. His writings about the French Revolution were extensively quoted by Ann Coulter in Demonic: How the Liberal Mob is Endangering America. I highly recommend his books, many of which are available free through Google Books.

The quote, from p. 183 of The Crowd, is:

". . . the candidate who hits on a new formula as devoid as possible of precise meaning, and apt in consequence to flatter the most varied aspirations, infallibly obtains a success."

D.C. and the people who vote was the intent of the post. Though the people grow increasingly desperate for leaders to come forth, the demons (always) are present to bore into the minds of people and claim they (the demons) have the solutions when the people become desperate. The lack of true Constitutional leaders within our federal, state, and local governments allow demons to occupy those offices, halls and floors of our institutions till the demons have absolute control, whereupon the institution fail (as was ordained) and only God may or may not come to the rescue. Ordained by the people voting and those who actually do not lead according to our Nation’s Constitution, or is a light still shining on the top of that hill? Prayer for a light, and prayer the light does not light a fuse which goes boom.

my apology for the spelling errors. A prayer the point I sought was made. On most sites (other than FreeRepublic the only site I type to) if someone makes a point (and as for myself am incapable of making a point because of intelligence level is lacking) others constantly try to destroy or remove that person as a subversive. Recon a radical, Constitutional Conservative, fearing God, and believing God is a loving God, Who comes when we call upon Him is not kool at many sites. Have never witnessed such here though.

Well, that is why I didn’t point it out and was happy the other poster took the brunt of the expected reaction. FRee Republic is a forgiving place, and I make more than my share of typos and misspellings. In fact, I just tagged one of my own on another thread.

OTOH, I am a former editor and struggle with a compulsion to correct things like mis-placed apostrophes (does anyone know the correct use of the apostrophe anymore?) and using the wrong (but similar sounding) word, or to correct objects (who/whom). It’s a gift and a curse, as Monk (the famous obsessive/compulsive TV detective) would say.

You are doing fine, and your meaning came through loud and clear. I’ll try to restrain myself.
