Merlin Medias IQ 106.9 WWIQ Philadelphia has officially confirmed that Rush Limbaugh will debut on the station on Monday, June 25.
The addition of Limbaugh from noon to 3pm finalizes the daytime lineup on the station that also includes a local news block with Al Gardner and Larry Mendte from 5am to 9am and syndicated talkers Glenn Beck from 9am to 12pm and Sean Hannity from 3pm to 6pm. Dial Globals Overnight America with Jon Grayson has been added for overnights. The evening slots are still to be filled, although a comment on the stations Facebook page hints at the addition of Mark Levin, whose show currently airs on Salems 990 WNTP in the market.
Anyway, Rush sounds great back on FM (where he started in Philly on WWDB 20+ years ago). WWIQ 106.9 FM. Time to reset the radio buttons.
If anybody has a Philadelphia (or Pennsylvania) ping list, please ping.
Thanks!

That station broadcasts at 38,000 watts. That is a lot of wattage for an FM station. (by comparison, WBBM and WLS in Chicago are only 4,800 watts). He should ahve a very good coverage area including a large chunk of Jersey as well as metro Philly.
The Smerconish thing is very upsetting, both on a political and entertainment level.
Thanks Lancey...I can’t stand that Smerconish Obama boot licker!
Smerconish is a pompous buffoon who considers himself better and more thoughtful than everybody else because, see, he's right there in the middle, carefully weighing both sides of the issues, etc.
I really can't take him.
(( ping ))
Thanks for posting this! I turned on 1210 WPHT this afternoon to listen to Rush, and heard Smerconish instead. I then switched over to 77 WABC out of New York. The reception isn't the greatest where I live, but I was able to listen to Rush today. I figured he must have moved to another Philly station - Philadelphia is too big of a market to not have Rush on local radio somewhere.
That is EXACTLY what I did. In fact, I always listen to Levin on 77. But anyway, I jumped on line to see where Rush was locally and found out about 106.9 FM ! and was delighted to listen to Rush once again in glorious HD. Took me back to the WWDB days. And by the way, the rumor at the link above is that the same station that now has Rush locally may add Mark Levin. I hope this new station blows 1210 out of the water.

MS is despicable. The last time I listened he was calmly explaining that Fast and Furious was a “Bush program” as if no other explanation was necessary.
And no one who wanted to ask the begged question—if F&F was a “Bush program,” why are Obama and Holder fighting subpoenas for records tooth and nail?—was allowed on the air. Never again.
Me too.....Rattled the nerves.....I hate that Effin Smerconish....I ended up switching to WABC....
Philly: some place you pass on the way to going somewhere.
Lancey Howard,I have tribune7 ping list.I just pinged them.
Yes and no. The first radio station I worked at was 50,000 watts, and it was in a market that was no where near the size of the Philly market. The station was in Dover Delaware and could (and can) be heard all over southern jersey and even in Philly.
FM signal is line of sight, AM signal goes with the flow of the terrain which is why at night you can get AM stations from hundreds and hundreds of miles away, which is not true for FM. .
106.9 has had a commercial calling the bald slip and fall lawyer Michael Smurfcommie.
Thank you!
Found their web-site at WWIQ 106.9FM - pretty comprehensive, and a link to listen live on-line.
Hope Smercommie croaks - can't stand the slimeball!
Thanks, Fatima! These pings are much needed, please continue!
