I don’t buy it personally. I read a study a few years back about just this thing happening. Guys that did it couldn’t get a fire started at all, on purpose. Only fire they managed to get started was using either tracer or other incendiaries.

... the blaze was caused when a bullet hit a rock and sparked the fire. That is the dumbest thing I've read today. Had to be a government drone.

In the last 10 or 15 years Hollywood action movies began depicting sparks igniting when bullets hit concrete, bricks, automobiles, etc. If it happens it’s rare.
