My co-worker at Microsoft who earns around $120,000 gets foodstamps because his daughter was premature.
He cannot reject the foodstamps.
If he doesn’t spend the money given to him on foodstamps, he risks the confiscation of his new daughter by Child Protective Services.
He has to figure out how to buy enough crap food on food stamps, then give it to less fortunate people at his church.
“He cannot reject the foodstamps.”
Of course not. The favorite words of the Evil Left are must, shall, and will. There’s no room for individual thought or Free Will. Nothing must stand in their way when they’re showing how “compassionate” they are.
Your co-worker is pulling your leg. Food stamps are income-based. If he is making as much money as he claims, he does not qualify. Eligibility has nothing to do with physical disabilities (or premature birth). Nothing. At all. Food stamps are a federal program, child protective services are administered by the state. He cannot “give away” food stamps to people at his church, because they are provided through a debit card. If he gives away or sells the debit card (and pin number), he is committing a federal crime. This guy must think you just fell off the turnip truck. Ask him to show you his food stamps.
Uhhh... I’m calling BS on your co-worker story.
Only thing limited by food stamps is none edible foods. Buy lots of dried beans, rice, peas, pasta, and canned veggies and fruits, and donate them. We have a food basket at church that we put a item per week in. (lots of old folks at my church) Most usually do a can of veggies or fruit...me I think multiple meals and do the rice, dried beans, peas and pasta. Even throw in a box of Cheerios once in a while when I get it free. I’m a big coupon user for items we use. Sack of potatoes, onions, apples, can be done.
That way it is not crap food. Lots of types of dried beans. Even raisins or other dried fruits or baking nuts that are healthy. Ditto for doing baby food, cereals and jars of meat, fruit, veggies.
The government MAKES him take it and use it?
