Second most enjoyable is that Sotomayor, the "wise Latina" filed an opinion concurring with the majority. Dissenting were Kagan, Breyer, and Ruth Buzzi.
This could have HUGE implications for Union Funding of Democrat Campaigns...
If they’d let us opt out of unions entirely, that would be a condition of even greater justice.
Is it possible that Sotomayor actually has some integrity?
Of course, this is not a predictor of the health care case...but even so....I bet the obama folks are crapping right now! (and telling themselves feverishly, “this is NOT a predictor...this is NOT a predictor...”)
Dumb question....but how could a Union possibly up the fees for “non-members”? Clearly I have under estimated their reach.
I've never worked a job in a union shop, or where there was even a hint of a union, so I'm not as up on this stuff as I would like to be. Are there actually instances where an employee is forced against his or her will to join a union in order to perform a certain job?
If so, what types of jobs are these?
sort of ... the violation was clear and Breyer's dissent was laughable. No wonder she and Ginsburg went with the majority. That said, Sotomayor concurred with the result but not the reasoning. In a less clear-cut case, look for Sotomayor and Ginsburg to side with the union.
There is a lot of sniping between her and Alito in their opinions. I take it that he is not impressed.
Obamugabe and SEIU, his "national security force... just as powerful, just as well funded" as the US military, will do whatever the hell they want, Supreme Court be damned. It's good to be king, eh?
The Kenyan's David Souter?
