On the contrary...I think that now that the headline is in the news the public should get educated about the issue as much as possible before the vote takes place.
Plus, it gives the whip time to see how many Dem votes he can order up. 31 have stated support so far. We'll see if they stand fast.

I think there may be some House rules regarding the notice required for scheduling a floor vote, but I'm not positive.

The oversight committe voted today. Next week is actually rather quick considering the legislative schedule, etc. Also, some house members are in their districts this week, but they shall be present next week.
