President Obama has granted an 11th-hour request by Attorney General Eric Holder to exert executive privilege over Fast and Furious documents, a last-minute maneuver that appears unlikely to head off a contempt vote against Holder by Republicans in the House.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is expected to forge ahead Wednesday morning with its meeting on the contempt resolution anyway.
If the vote proceeds, Republicans have more than enough votes on committee to pass the resolution. However, Holder would not be considered held in contempt of Congress unless and until the full House approves the measure.

Yes
“so does executive privilege tell us Obama was involved with fast and furious all along “
YES !!
This government, if you can call it that, has run guns all over Central and South America. The state dept and every damn intel agancy are involved in this up to their squinty eyeballs
So the Cretin In Chief just admitted this is an Oval Office scandel.
One asshat (D) says, because the contempt charge would increase “partisanship,” he’s going to vote against it.
Someone should inform him if he’s really so concerned about defeating partisanship, he should vote FOR it.
How long will this last on the Whitehouse Web:

My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government. We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration. Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in Government.
Government should be transparent. Transparency promotes accountability and provides information for citizens about what their Government is doing. Information maintained by the Federal Government is a national asset. My Administration will take appropriate action, consistent with law and policy, to disclose information rapidly in forms that the public can readily find and use. Executive departments and agencies should harness new technologies to put information about their operations and decisions online and readily available to the public. Executive departments and agencies should also solicit public feedback to identify information of greatest use to the public.
Ironic, isn't it, that the Lame Stream Media just did all kinds of "40 years ago today" stuff on the original break-in.
So, when do we get nObama's "I am not a crook" speech????
This ALL had to be a big part of the “under the radar” work being done to damage the Second Amendment...
He (Barry) said so himself...
Now we all know why some, most, maybe not all people feel very threatened by this administration...
I’ve already phoned my congressman, and got my Dad to do the same for his...
Looks like they’ve pulled the trigger (pardon the pun) on contempt proceedings in Issa’s committee, next needs to be some impeachment progress for both the AG and the President...
Doubtful anyone elected has the juevos rancheros to get that started...
High Crimes and Misdemeanors???
Seems like a reasonable and Constitutional thing to do...So what if Partisanship goes out the window...I love a “do nothing” congress...Makes our lives a lot less stressful...
Just my opinion...
Double yes!
Executive privilege certainly complicates the issue — leaves the president between a rock and a hard place. If they go forward with that, the administration will have to rewrite the script again. That is, like the correction to the February letter that was found to be an “untruth”. Script writers are going to be very busy, as the issue has been addressed many times and the committee was told the president knew nothing about F&F.
MestaMachine found it.
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. I'll be handling the Poll Freeping pings while Dynachrome's gone. Errors and omissions are all mine until the handoff when he returns.
