My wife's maternal grandfather was 100% full Cherokee and her grandmother was half Cherokee, and both lived on a reservation out west. By our reckoning, that makes her about eight times more documented blood Cherokee than Warren and her thrice-removed family folk tale heritage. Now, while acknowledging that my wife is Republican, does it still make her a right wing extremist if she'd like to kick Warren's ass for hiding behind her 'people'? Those dark-haired, brown-eyed sistas gotta stick together, ya know.........

"As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their hearts desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."
--H.L. Mencken, The Baltimore Evening Sun, July 26, 1920
