Michelle Obama slaps ‘corporate’ work, ‘fat paychecks’

First lady Michelle Obama took her inspirational family story on the road over the weekend, telling the graduating class of Oregon State University that having a corner corporate office and a big paycheck isn’t the prize it looks like when entering the job market.

“Success isn’t about how your life looks to others, it’s about how it feels to you,” Obama said Sunday, retelling how she and her brother, Oregon men’s basketball coach Craig Robinson, grew up in a small Chicago home pushed by parents who said “be true to ourselves.”

For both, she said, that meant throwing away their corporate suits and trying something different after realizing what they thought was the American dream.

“After graduating from college, we did everything we thought we should do to be successful -- Craig went to business school, I went to law school, we got prestigious jobs at an investment bank and me at a law firm. We soon had all the traditional markers of success: the fat paycheck, the fancy office, the impressive lines on our resumés. But the truth is, neither of us was all that fulfilled,” said Obama. “I was living the dream, but it wasn’t my dream. And Craig felt the same way, unbeknownst to me.”

Well I didn’t get drunk but was working the day they had ceremonies. I never had any intentions of going anyway, had already told them to send it in the mail.

Between the two of them holding ‘appointed’ jobs in consequence of their connection to the Democratic political machine, ‘fat paychecks’ were the norm!

Does anybody know a Unionized Public school teacher that makes LESS than $65,000. and has benefits out the wazoo including full pensions at 55 years of age for life?

Like expensive designer clothes and boob belts or travel the world on the taxpayer dime....shame on Michelle Obama! Ms. Obama gets the anti-Capitalism message out loud and clear.

What is really clear is that Michelle is an elitist telling American youth not to try so hard for a rich life like hers, just settle for "Feeling good" will be fine - that is all the success you need, the government will take care of you. A conservative would tell you to go to work and work hard.....you know the rest.

A big corporate payout was sure what she had in mind when she got a $100,000 a year gig at a Chicago Hospital as the wife of an Illinois State Senator - upgraded to $300,000 when he became a U.S. Senator - and the ‘position’ left entirely unfilled when she moved on to become the FLOTUS.

And their payment to her was well worth their money - because whatever she was or was not doing for $300,000 a year (nothing too important as nobody now is currently doing what she supposedly did); they got a HUGE return on investment when 0bama was doling out the money from his “stimulus”.
