This article is dead on. Romney needs to announce NOW......TODAY.... that he will name Marco Rubio as his VP choice and get Rubio out on the campaign trial immediately. I know the Convention has to affirm his nomination but that is a formality.

America needs some R&R..... Romney & Rubio. And, please, no s**t from the “Rubio is not eligible” people; I’m not in the mood for it today.

So Romney is supposed to pander to the Latino vote because Obama just tried to buy them off?

Isn’t one of the biggest complaints we have with the GOP is their inability lead? Their almost insane belief that the Dems must lead and they will follow behind, barely putting on any brakes?

Rubio is a good guy and much more conservative than he is given credit for on here and I do believe he would make a good VP. Announcing his place on the ticket right now will be twisted as a failed attempt at one-upmanship on behalf of Romney and used by the media to claim racism at every single turn.

Bad idea this guy has.

There is absolutely no need for Willard to name a veep just yet (just as it shows wisdom and patience to NOT jump instantly into Mister Obama's illegal alien trap.)

Sometimes, my FRiends, it is much better to have people curious and waiting for a response. At some point, the crowd will silence, and heads will turn with interest toward the speaker, and THAT is the time a wise leader makes an announcement.

OMG....... Picking Rubio as VP would cast in concrete the Romney lose.

Rubio is not qualified for the office of VP, he is not a natural born citizen. Do not try to qualify him using online sources. all on line sources have been abridged with malicious intent to subvert the constitution and the law. Seek out printed sources published prior to 2007 for research. You will find that Rubio is clearly not qualified.

Please. I’m not too surprised a libertarian would write something like this, since that group generally holds absurd, self-defeating views in support of unending mass immigration.

If Romney were to do this, the leaders of these ethnic grievance groups (who are all far left) would condemn it as a cheap political move (even as they praise Obama’s cheap, unlawful political move). They would call it an empty gesture from a man who used ‘mean, divisive, harsh, anti-immigrant’ rhetoric to win the nomination. They would say it’s not enough from a man who pandered to right wing bigots to get the nomination, and who still hasn’t fully embraced a path to citizenship for all illegal aliens like Obama has.

And the media would back up all of these claims.

If Romney really wanted to be bold, he’d go in with a speech very likely to get him booed off the stage. He’d promote real conservative immigration reform, which would include no path to citizenship for illegals, and a reduction in legal immigration. In other words, he could try pushing a new type of comprehensive immigration reform, one that doesn’t guarantee demographic destruction for the conservative movement. It would cause his already low support from latinos to fall even more, but it might resonate with other voters.

Who knows? But the scenario this writer lays out is a pure fantasy.
