Oklahoma City, OK, United States (4E) Oklahoma City has been dubbed Americas Manliest City in the fourth annual Combos Americas Manliest Cities list.
Conducted by New Jersey-based Mars Chocolate, in conjunction with research expert Bert Sperling, the list ranks the 50 largest U.S. metropolitan areas using a scale that takes into account the number of home improvement stores, steak houses and manly occupations per capita.
Cities stood to lose points if they had too many girly or feminine factors, such as a high number of nail salons or high-end retail boutiques.
Topping the list as Americas Manliest City is Oklahoma City. Columbia, S.C. was ranked second and Memphis landed at No.3.
Nashville, Tenn., ranked first last year, dropped to fourth. Rounding out the top five was Birmingham. Ala.
Ranked No. 50, making it the least manly state in the study, was San Diego.
Expect a sudden influx of gays looking for Manly Men...
Seems to me that there were more single women than single men there also.
I liked Oklahoma City. It was square. My family doesn’t care about steak houses, because we cook steaks at home, but OKC also has the National Western Heritage Center (the “Cowbow Hall of Fame,” as was) and the 45th Infantry Museum. Those are very manly attractions. And in Norman, there’s the University of Oklahoma, a football-y place, and the Natural History Museum, with giant dinosaurs for mini-men.
I wouldn’t mind going back there, if the stars aligned aright.
What a bizarre attitude.
What's my wife supposed to do - learn auto repair or carpentry?
Wouldn't a city be better if it has both "manly" and "girly" things to do?
Would you want to live in a city with no women?
Stupid. Manly men haves wives, and wives need nail salons and Macy's. Trust me on this.
Oklahoma is know as the belt buckle of the Bible Belt. Seems like manliness and Godliness just kinda go together.
Hey! You can’t forget about Allana! All them guys in their Aliens Helmets, graphite bikes and prissy pants bicycling in the middle of traffic, can you?
Been there a few times...good people.
Simple.
Whatever city Mountn Man is in at the time is the manliest city.
That that sentence again. They said ‘too many “girly” or feminine factors’.
I wonder if Tampa is mentioned.
Um. Actually I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
This woman can’t afford Macy’s.
Oh,well. They cater to the queers, anyway.
Lets say nail salons average 10 customers per day each. There are 15 nail salons. 100 women get their nails done.
Step adside, OK City, and make way for your little brother!

Believe it or not, this was a Canadian redneck hippy anthem in 1970 bars!
Isn’t Tampa considered the strip club capital of the US?

Are you saying that she can’t? She could clean fish, landscape your yard, spend time at the pistol range...
For most people, it is unnecessary for the article and the thread, but for you: </SARC>
That’s okay....not everyone is expected to comprehend a reply that says “been there ......good people” to an article that notes the manliness of Oklahoma City. Albeit, a complement on the people Oklahoma City, I guess I should have said “I seen an Oklahoma Citian eat a barr” or something... it was nothing more than a complement.
