We are letting the left win this, “You aren’t compassionate” argument.

"Sincerity is everything. Once you learn to fake that, the rest is easy."

This is a trap - just another Obama scam to move the daily debate from the economy and unemployment to "social justice". Democrats always win the argument when it is about "feelings" and helping victim groups out with taxpayer money.

And foolish people like Rubio and The Huckster have fallen into the trap.
They are propping Obama up instead of pointing out how is breaking the law, trashing the constitution and making unemployment worse for blacks and others.

Romney made a safe, middle-of-the-road statement.
Now he needs to drop the subject and concentrate on pounding Obama about the economy, the deficit, and jobs, jobs, jobs.

Hey HUCKABEE THE HUCKSTER: The process matters, and THAT is what bothers most conservatives about the action!!!

Good God Almighty, we are NOT in a friggin' dictatorship, ya populist preaching Arkansas do-gooder!!! The solution to a problem (I don't blame these kids for their parents' sins either) is NOT to have some benevolent dictator overrule the LAW.

How ignorant are these people?????????

Oh, wait...I see...this is "Mediaite", from the Obama butt kissing section of the internet. Probably taking Huck out of context. At least I hope so.

I think Romney needs to keep focus on making things better for legal Americans. I believe that Obama has misjudged the opinion of the American public in doing what he did.

I think Romney also needs to hammer him for bypassing Congress.

I had to repeat that succinct statement of American exceptionalism and tradition, with one small modification.

"In America, where every elected representative swears to uphold the Constitution's protections of the rights and liberties of all, there is no "admirable" action if, by that action, the person who does it violates the Constitution's limits [and] his/her [required oath of office."]

Exactly. What Obama is proposing is the wrong thing to do regarding illegal aliens, all of whom are criminals, many of them the worst kind of violent offenders. Even though they are no right to be in this country, they feel they are entitled to push ahead of the ling and receive special perks.

Rep. Steve King is considering filing a lawsuit to block Obama's efforts. We all should show support for King's plan.

That is a great change to my original statement! Thanks. In my rush to make a point about Huckabee's bandwagon leap, my wording was not as concise as yours.

At any rate, I hope many folks will flood Huckabee's in-box with that observation. He alluded to the constitution 101 matter, but should have stayed off the stump for the idea, for it gives Obama credit for a purely political ploy.

As for the link to the Crockett file, I provided another one also--located at the Foundation for Economic Education web site--a site loaded with archives which are loaded with other helpful works in this time of great danger in our Republic.

Thanks, again.

This is yet another reason Boehner must be replaced as SOH...He should be out in the media discussing impeachment over this, not only against Obozo, but against ANY cabinet secretary that attempts to implement any of this BS. Not only is one not obligated to follow an illegal order, one can be prosecuted for doing so. This should be made abundantly clear to Obozo’s appointees.

I believe that the House, or a group from the House, has standing to submit an emergency request for mandamus from the Supreme Court.
That might be an effective cure for the attempted "silent coup."

The Congress (both houses) has no obligation to pass laws demanded by the Executive.
The Executive, on the other hand, has no authority to ignore laws legally passed by the Congress. None.

Even morons can grasp that distinction.

re: “. . . but the policy President Obama tried to implement for young undocumented people was something he had also attempted to pass in Arkansas.”

Of course had our country been ENFORCING existing immigration law for the past 40 years, none of this would even be an issue.

As others have rightly said, this Executive Order is unconstitutional in that the president has simply ignored congress and implemented a law on his own authority - in contradiction to the powers Constitutionally granted to the congress.

As to being compassionate, I agree these young adults had nothing to do with their parents breaking the law, and I agree that they are in a legal bind due to no fault of their own - but, who’s fault is that? I place blame not only on the parents, but also on our government!

The parents are the ones who put their children in this situation orginally, but our government also chose to accept the children of illegal parents into our school systems and colleges. Had our government enforced immigration laws, many of the illegals would have gone home on their own, and these kids would not be in this prediciment.

The “compassion” of rino republicans and democrats alike have created this problem a hundred-fold and now here we are with this gigantic mess to clean up - but no one willing to do the dirty work.

Also, when you start making exceptions to the law, where does this end? The answer is it never does until you have someone willing to stand up and say NO. Of course they will be vilified and crucified in the media and very few people are willing to endure that.

But, make no mistake, the point of this “edict” by Obama is to distract the voters from his horrible economic policies, his horrible stance on abortion, his endorsing gay marriage (another ignoring of federal law), Obamacare, and his horrible performance with foreign policy, etc. He did this in the attempt to get everyone arguing over these so-called “poor” children who were able to get taxpayer funding from the cradle up.

And, if his “edict” is allowed to stand, he gets something he and his democrat buddies have been trying to accomplish for years - 800,000 thousand new democrat voters and the hundreds of thousands of illegal parents, grandparents votes as well (although he already had these votes to begin with).

We must not allow him to get away with the distraction and continue to focus on his economic disaster and the illegality of this Executive Order - if our congress and courts allow this order to stand, then why even have a congress or a judicial system? Hey, just anoint Obama as king and be done with it - he’s acting that way anyway.
