A bad title can be disastrous.
Terriers was great, though I think they phoned in the last 4 episodes because they knew their fate.
Cinderella Man was a poor title for a great movie. Box office suffered.
John Carter needed two more (very obvious) words in its title. Box office suffered.
Imagine if Star Wars was titled "Luke Skywalker" instead.
Disney dropped the “of Mars” because “Mars needs Moms” tanked. One of those weird pieces of Hollywood executive logic: clearly Mars Needs Mom didn’t tank because of moms, everybody loves moms, so it must be Mars’ fault. Which then of course means taking all the Mars out of the ads, so you get a shirtless guy jumping far, and only real nerds have any interest in going to see it, and there just aren’t that many of us.
I’m curious. I know you said it should be obvious, but, what two words should have been added to John Carter?
