Obama now scolding the press and the public about the righteousness of his unilaterally giving amnesty to illegals. He is scolding a reporter for asking a question. He is on a rant of part anger and part arrogance. He is explaining to us commoners the righteousness of his unilateral action. He "hopes Congress recognizes his righteousness and gets behind" him. he storms off stage, angry and taking no questions.
Mitt talking live on Cspan now how much he loves this country. It’s nice to hear someone say it genuinely, even though I’m a reluctant supporter.
I’m in line with your thinking. Just heard a snippet of his speach (I turned the live one off). There are stipulations, such as requesting derferral and work permit.
How many illegals want to give the gov’t the information which can be turned on them after the election?
(I do hope to find a video of him stomping off stage though! I’ll just mute it.)
It’s becoming more obvious by the day that we simply cannot wait until November (read: January) to get rid of this guy. Imagine a scorched-earth Zero if he loses....
I actually forced myself to watch the whole embarrassing speech on TV. I cheered when I heard the guy questioning him. I wish someone would ask him what little illegal children play with his girls?
Romney needs to keep quiet on this and let Obama take all the heat. What we need is for a strong conservative LEGAL immigrant to explain why breaking the law is no cornerstone to build your house upon.
According to this guy, he can't:
"I just have to continue to say this notion that somehow I can just change the laws unilaterally is just not true. We are doing everything we can administratively. But the fact of the matter is there are laws on the books that I have to enforce. And I think there's been a great disservice done to the cause of getting the DREAM Act passed and getting comprehensive immigration passed by perpetrating the notion that somehow, by myself, I can go and do these things. It's just not true." -Barack Obama, Sep 28, 2011
I am SO hoping you’re right. (be nice if our House would help him along. Newt would have- just saying’)
What worries me is how cynical & disgusted people have become (thanks to 0Care being rammed through anyway).
In 07 (I*think*), people shut the switchboards down when “immigration reform” was tried. Will we do it again (especially since the stakes are very much higher)?
We better!
Can’t wait for him to come stumbling into some presser carrying bags of cheetos with a cloud of reefer smoke following him.
You are correct. We won’t make it to elections, they are so working to make sure there is civil unrest.
When I heard this, this morning I thought is was some wild joke.
All I can see in my head is a member of the military walking in and arresting him for crimes against the people. If congress won’t act, refuses to act...
I just find it incredible that we stand in witness to this and helpless.
You’re crazy to think Obama would do this to round up illegals—other than to pay their taxi fare to the nearest 10 voting booths come November.
Would not bank on it, the last thing the legal latino immigrants want is a boatload more latinos being made legal that they have to contend for jobs with. Would not bank on them being that happy with this.
Blah, blah, blah....
If he really loves this country, then he needs to call Obama out on this NOW. Not next week or next month. Now.
He needs to tell Congress to grow a set and stand up to this NOW.
But that won’t happen.
Buncha spineless eunuchs.
From another freeper, can’t find the thread, earlier today-—
In March 2011, speaking at Univision town hall in Washington, D.C., Barack Obama firmly stated that, as president, he can’t simply “suspend deportations” with only an executive order. “With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations through executive order, thats just not the case, because there are laws on the books that Congress has passed,” President Obama said then.
His statement then was in response to this straight forward question, “What if at least you grant temporary protective status, TPS, to undocumented students? If the answer is yes, when? And if no, why not?”
Today, the Obama administration seems to be contradicting what the president once believed. With the announcement that young illegal immigrants who “do not present a risk to national security or public safety” will not be deported, Obama seems to have turned a corner. Now the Obama administration will be using prosecutorial discretion not to go after these people.
So, what has happened since then? Has the president “evolved” on immigration the way he did on gay marriage?
There has not been any change to the laws on the books that would offer a different legal course regarding immigration. Instead, it appears to be a reinterpretation of the law—and of executive power—on the part of President Obama.
It’s amazing what an election year can do to one’s own interpretation of laws on the books!
How will these illegals prove they are between 15 & 30? ID???? Hmmmmm

>>Hissy fit continues around 7:10.<<
Love when the reporter asked, “what about American workers?”
Well....what about it, Obozo?
You don’t think this pisses the black voter off? Even more than the gay marriage thing? Black voters where unemployment is already at record numbers and now Bambi has just added more legal workers to the mix....
And I never, ever watch him. I’m off today and just happened to turn on Fox at the end of his speech. It was an unbelievable, unpresidential display of petulance.
Seriously, we should start a pool. At some point, he’s going to be hauled off stage, screaming and ranting.
Someone does shout at him as he walks off about specifically ruling this out last year.
