Politicians are calling for a boycott of HBO's fantasy series Game of Thrones after the creator's 'despicable' decision to include former President George W. Bush's severed head in several scenes.
In the tenth episode of the first season, Mr Bush's decapitated head is seen impaled on a wooden spike, covered in filthy long hair and slathered in dirt.
Show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who noted the appearance in the series' DVD commentary, insist it wasn't a political statement - just a prop.
But the image has provoked outrage among some Republican politicians.

Christians use the Apostle’s Creed as an expression of faith. Leftists use the phrase, “I HATE GEORGE BUSH!!!”
When two people pass in the street, uttering that affirmation of faith identifies you as a New Socialist Man.
It can also be used at parties and social gatherings, to help get laid by hippie chicks.
Cable company recently gave me HBO and Cinemax for free for 6 months and I see very little on it worth watching.

Someone was bragging about the show to me recently, saying I should watch it. You just saved me the trouble.
Not that I’m “outraged”, because it takes more than some phony Hollywood poop-flinging to outrage me. But if they are that juvenile, how good can this show be? Really?
The monkees fling poop; you don’t get outraged. You maybe move back a bit from the edge of the pen, but you don’t get outraged. Its just monkees doing what monkees do.
Let’s ignore it. It’s a dumb show. The proof I offer is Hugh Hewitt SWOONS over it.

Read the first three books in about as many weeks, maybe a few more. I kinda o.d. Had to take a break. After reading some of the kindle reviews don’t know if I will finish as the series doesn’t seem to come to a conclusion. I gotta know what happens!!!! :-)
Enjoyed the books and the first season, but I couldn’t stand paying for Bill Maher. Now I know to not ask my sister to DVR them to watch when I babysit.
BTW, if y’all are reading the books, the stories never end. 5,000 pages between them all and we’ve gotten nowhere. Save yourself the trouble, and start reading the series in 5-10 years. The series might be finished by then and we can see resolution of some sort.

I won't. The show is done very well and follows the books (so far). I have watched every episode from seasons 1 & 2 and will continue being a fan of the series (and first 3 books
None of it mattered before I knew that they had a prop that looked like W's head and won't matter now.
The books are good until you get to book 4. Read them and enjoy 1-3. After that, the main characters are just chasing each other around Westeros and there is no advance in the storyline. George R.R. Martin only had a certain amount of story in him and he ran out at #4.
I'm very interested to see where the series goes after season 3, if it is still on. He's not afraid to kill off his main characters.

You and millions of other fans. Martin needs to finish the damn story! 4 & 5 are a waste of time. Book 4 introduces a whole series of new characters that have absolutely NOTHING to do with books 1-3.
He is off in la-la land and lost his way.

They waste SO MUCH TIME with invented scenes.
I think the actress they have playing “Roz” is as hot as hell and a decent actress and is certainly sufficiently naked in most scenes (love redheads) - but as she is a character invented for the show (in a book with thousands of characters to chose from) EVERY scene with her is a total waste of time and effort and I DESPISE HER and recoil every time I see her pretty face!!!!!
The first season was good, and the deviations a minor annoyance. The second season, as if emboldened by the first, they have completely gone off the rails.
The deft scenes and dialog of the books is ignored - and awkward painful to watch and improbable scenes with bad dialog written to replace them.
Worth watching so far - but a far cry from what it should have been. What a waste.
