In Case You Don't Like Romney...
Columnist Andrew McCarthy gives us what probably is the most important question regarding the upcoming presidential election
If Romney wins the nomination, as seems very likely, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy. For my friends who may have hesitation on that score, Id just ask you to keep four things in mind:
1.. Justice Scalia just turned 78
2.. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year
3.. Justice Breyer will be 76 in August
4.. Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago and has had cancer twice.
Whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come.
If you dont think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, I think youre smokin something funky .
So for anybody who is thinking of not voting because your favorite didnt get nominated, or writing in a candidate who can't win ... just imagine this possibility:
'SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ERIC HOLDER'
Did that get your attention!
Excellent post, xzins.
My point is that these are the BEST we can expect from Romney. Romney’s appointments in Massachusetts were far WORSE.
“bigoted views”? How about the “truth about his religion”. Even if he was a Baptist, I wouldn’t want to vote for him. He is a liberal - any way you slice it.
How about YOUR record SoCon? Your posts prove you are 100% dead set on defeating the republican nominee, that you consider nothing about the need to defeat Obama, that you spend all of your energy urging the defeat of the republican.
I’ve got OBAMA as president and I am supposed to listen to your opinion which is just keep Obama?
That train has left the station.
Who is the more conservative candidate? I can’t tell!
I’m glad it only took 6 posts for the obvious to be stated.
Who to vote for.............hmmm
On one hand we have a guy taking us over the cliff at 100 mph. On the other hand, a guy whose record shows he’ll only do 95 mph, yet claims he printed the roadmap for the guy who is going 100.
HMMMMMMMM.
“.....Willard will appoint liberals just like Hussein.....”
*************************************************************
And you KNOW this how?
That simply isn't the case, Mindbender, although I respect the point you're trying to get across. What you meant to say was "those are the two standard, preferred choices." (Or something like that.)
However, in reality, I "CAN" vote Virgil Goode here in Ohio. His name really will be on the ballot. It really will tally under his name. And really, neither Obama nor Romney will be able to claim that vote for themselves.
Therefore, it is a "real" choice. It really does exist.
And I really will vote for The Constitution Party candidate, Goode. (Who, incidentally, is the only conservative in the race.)
*******************************
Agreed.
He is a good Freeper?
Go to his FR home page, (before he changes it,) and it’s nothing but anti-Republican hype.
Check it out.
Ginsberg is the only one I can see being replaced in the next 4 years.
Whose your optician....Just want to know so I don’t patronize him/her/whatever.
It’s like obomo whispered to Medvedev, after he’s re-elected he will have a free hand b/c he won’t have to run again. And we all know he will do all the “remaking of America” he can possibly accomplish. This remaking certainly will include appointing doctrinaire progressive/socialists to the SCOTUS.
Romneys appointments in Massachusetts were far WORSE.
Curious, do you know the procedure for appointments in MA? I’ve asked before but don’t know and haven’t really searched for the info. In some states the Gov. has little authority outside of selecting someone provided from a group of names given to him by some committee.
This years election is Rinoism vs. Progressivism. Pick Your poison. Me I am voting for Virgil Goode or writing in Michelle Bachmann if he isn’t on the Kansas ballot. Really doesn’t matter now what anybody says about it because I have been against Romney sometime and just can’t come to vote for him. A bridge too far.
These are the postings and advice of Pubbie, back when he favored Obama over McCain: These are HIS postings not mine. How many votes did this get for Obama?
