Arizona prepares to enforce strict immigration law

Arizona already is gearing up to enforce its strict immigration law as it anticipates a favorable ruling from the Supreme Court sometime this month, with Gov. Jan Brewer issuing an executive order Monday telling police to bone up on the details of the law.
Mrs. Brewer ordered that training materials produced to help police understand the law and its limits should be distributed throughout the state in preparation for a ruling. The materials, created by a state board that sets standards for all law enforcement, include a DVD designed to help police understand the circumstances that would allow them to question someone about his or her immigration status.
That power has been the most controversial part of the law, SB 1070, which Ms. Brewer signed in 2010 but which has been largely halted by lower federal courts as an infringement on federal powers.
In her order, Ms. Brewer said the materials need to make clear that an individuals race, color or national origin alone cannot be grounds for reasonable suspicion to believe any law has been violated.
Among other provisions, the Arizona law requires police to check the immigration status of those they have encountered during their duties and have reasonable suspicion are in the country illegally.
Immigrant-rights groups and civil liberties organizations said SB 1070 would lead to racial profiling, but that has yet to be tested in court.

Yep, be ready to enforce it immediately, don't give them time to even holler if it stands.

Good. I hope the illegals pack up and leave Arizona before they can vote in November. They are more than welcome to live and vote in California. Hell, the California Democrats will send air conditioned busses to bring them to California.

And what then if they don’t get the favorable ruling from the SCOTUS?
This seems to be a REAL states rights issue, the kind on which, given a COMPLETELY out of touch, collectivist Federal government (no matter which party is in power), the whole future of our Republic turns.

I want all those illegals afraid to even hang out in front of the Home Depot or any of the multiple gas and quick stops....I want them living in fear - until they decide to go the hell home where they belong.

I agree with you 100%. If Mexicans want to come then do it legally. Learn our language, honor our flag and our history. All these people want to do is carve out an enclave in our country and turn it into the crap hole they ran away from.

All these people want to do is carve out an enclave in our country and turn it into the crap hole they ran away from. And they want the citizens of this country to finance it. They are a net loss/cost to this country ANY way you look at it, from ANY perspective.

"Immigrant rights" = "jumbo shrimp"

Legal immigrants are one thing but these turkeys are illegal aliens and should have no rights at all other than to be deported.

Mexicans infuriate the p!ss out of me! I'm not one of those Americans who forgets May 1,2006 when hundreds of thousands of Mexican bigots marched in the streets of cities across our country carrying that damned tri-colored stained bed-sheet they call a flag, disrespected our flag and demanded to be made citizens. I'll never forget that. I'll never George Bush not saying a damn thing about it either. I have nothing but utter contempt for Mexicans. To a man and woman they're nothing but thieves, lairs and prostitutes of one stripe or another who have completely destroyed the beautiful land God gave them and run away from it to American bent of destroying her. When was the last time Mexico went out and won a war to save the world? Screw Mexico.

Looks like all of you are in agreement with THIS guy on Immigration
'The first act of an immigrant should not be an illegal one. He believes there should be no special path to citizenship. Everyone who wants to come to the United States should have to follow the same channels as everyone else. Those who have come here illegally do not deserve special treatment or special citizenship passes.' *
'Governor Romney understands immigration. He was the Governor of the home of the first European immigrants to the Nation. Everyone should be welcome to come to the United States but they need to do it correctly, as have countless generations of Americans before us. Mitt Romney believes in the rule of law and will fully enforce federal immigration law. As governor, he authorized state police to assist the federal government in immigration enforcement.' *
'Oppose Amnesty Mitt Romney opposes amnesty because he believes that it acts as a magnet encouraging illegal immigration. The last amnesty law passed in 1986 granted legal status to 2.7 million illegal immigrants. In the decades since, the illegal immigrant population has quadrupled. Mitt believes that an amnesty should not be permitted to happen again. Illegal immigrants who apply for legal status should not be given any advantage over those who are following the law and waiting their turn. Mitt absolutely opposes any policy that would allow illegal immigrants to cut in line.' *
*[FROM MITT'S HOMEPAGE]
I AGREE WITH THIS GUY TO....

“God Bless Arizona!”
Concur. But here in Texas we have a ILLEGAL-CODDLING governor and a jerk who’s running for US Senate that does the governor’s dirty work in the legislature.
It’s an absolute EMBARRASSMENT to see other states (AZ and AL) so far ahead of us.
