Tough stuff from Team Serpenthead. Whats a president to do when he cant run on the idea that Americas better off now than it was four years ago? Simple. Run on the idea that America will be better off four years from now if it gives him another term. 2008: The future is now. 2012: No, wait, we mean the future is now.
Hope and change theyre always a day away.
What is clear from this fresh look at public consciousness on the economy is how difficult this period has been for both non-college-educated and college-educated voters and how vulnerable the prevailing narratives articulated by national Democratic leaders are. We will face an impossible headwind in November if we do not move to a new narrative, one that contextualizes the recovery but, more importantly, focuses on what we will do to make a better future for the middle class.
It is elites who are creating a conventional wisdom that an incumbent president must run on his economic performance and therefore must convince voters that things are moving in the right direction. They are wrong, and that will fail. The voters are very sophisticated about the character of the economy; they know who is mainly responsible for what went wrong and they are hungry to hear the President talk about the future. They know we are in a new normal where life is a struggle and convincing them that things are good enough for those who have found jobs is a fools errand. They want to know the plans for making things better in a serious way not just focused on finishing up the work of the recovery

Shhhh.... We want Obama to keep talking. Do not help him one bit.
That's the LAST thing they want to do, provide specifics. Obama has campaigned for 5 years now and has yet to offer any concrete solutions. Anytime he gets anywhere near a detail folks can instantly recognize, "hey, that's not gonna work!"
Anyone with a half brain would know What Barry meant was there was absolutely nothing he wanted to do to bring cost of gasoline down.
At the present oil is now in a state of surplus and the price is falling. Barry can't be too pleased about that, but before the election he will swallow his pride and take credit.
We also should be dismantling the entire ridiculous edifice of unionized state and local government “services” that we don’t need. This country did fine in the days before we had big, over-paid police departments, for example. These days, we spend BILLIONS on “law enforcement” yet crime keeps soaring by the year. That’s because the police unions, the liberal judges, public defenders, communist social workers, etc. have no interest in “fighting crime.” They NEED crime in order to justify their bloated salaries, gold-plated benefits and fat pensions. I say dismantle the whole thing and go back to the principle that YOU protect YOUR place, I protect MY place and what few cops we need have a lot of ... latitude... to deal with the bad guys.
Same thing with teachers. Back when America made sense, teaching was something we trusted young, Christian women to do for a few years before they got married. We didn’t pay them much, but they could teach the kids to to arithmetic, write and read the Holy Bible. When teaching became a “profession” it started attracting liberal parasites whose main goal was to indulge their own vanities, collect outrageous and — again — get a ridiculous benefits and a huge pension that keeps them on our payroll for life.
The only people better off today than 4 years ago are the Prisoners at Guantanamo.
Seen here recently: “Eternity is Joe Biden and Al Sharpton playing chess’’.
Wait till the truth comes out about how bad and corrupt Obama’s White house has become. I think it will be the worst since Grant. He will become a terrible joke.
