President Obama’s re-election campaign has spent weeks trying to drive home the point that Massachusetts was at the back of the pack in job growth under Gov. Mitt Romney. Now, a new campaign TV ad touts a stat on which Romney’s state surged to the front — per capita debt.
“Number One,” a 30-second spot, claims Massachusetts debt grew $2.6 billion during Romney’s tenure between 2003 and 2007 to $18 billion, or $4,153 per person, according to Moody’s 2007 State Debt Medians cited in the ad.
“First in debt. Forty-seventh in job creation. That’s Romney economics,” the ad says.
The tag line encapsulates Democrats’ argument against candidate Romney of 2012, discrediting his pitch for the presidency as an accomplished businessman and state chief executive by highlighting his record in office from less than a decade ago.
The ad will air in nine battleground states — Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia — as part of an ad campaign described by aides as a “significant buy.”

Roger that! It is what it is, period. Wishful thinking at this point for woulda shoulda coulda is absolutely pointless, especially when the perfect response to this ad is to run the Post Turtle's quote about the private sector from Friday. Far different from 2001 I would say when considering the issues of today.
Get Romney in there and then hold his feet to the fire by electing as many true conservative, tea party types to the local, state and federal representative offices as possible. His role as an administrator will be just as predictable by the people he had to work with, then and now.
If he fails, then we have the primary process to go through again in four, only this time those people you voted into the lower chambers will be the determining factor on whether open primaries still exist. Only then will we have the ability to nominate a true conservative with bold differences as did the people of Wisconsin. There is a huge lesson to be learned from that recall election.
That said, everyone knew he was running for President when he was Governor. I would be interested to see the difference in applications for federal aid and programs by the democrat house members and senators and democrat legislators. I know for a fact that a majority of his vetoes (primarily fiscal) were overridden.
It is easy for the collectivists to manipulate the system when we work within a collectivist system. Like it or not, today our government(s) operate on a basis of primary planning at the federal level and the states are beholding to them for their budgets and preferential placement economically, been happening for a long time- see republican party in mid 1800's, tariffs and subsidies were one factor among many that bred the resentment that culminated with the civil war Those that know that system can make any governor or representative look ineffective while making those that are destroying the economy look like saviors.
Mitt Romney is a central planner. He will promote the concept of collectivism, not to the degree that Obama does, that is little consolation. But he played for the wrong team and the players on the other side targeted him and were willing to manipulate the system to discredit him; the sad fact that they hurt others in doing so seems to be acceptable collateral damage.
I get the feeling that the GOP establishment doesn’t want a true conservative (fiscal and social) nominated. I don’t see than changing in four years. I wish we had a serious third party.
Others are non-stop hate against Romney and are trying to dissuade other from voting for him... Don't they realize that depressing the vote for the top of the ticket will have a huge impact on those GOP and conservative candidates downstream?
What really bothers me is when these folks latch on to ridiculous charges made by the real enemy- the MusKenyanMarxist as though it was factual... Such as the dog riding on top of the roof (these folks said he's an animal abuser) or the incident 50 years ago (they said he's a bully and mean)... Basically, adopting the left's BS to use against Romney... If the same charges were leveled against their preferred candidate, you think they'd accept it wholesale? Right...

Even if the numbers they give are true, it works out to $600 per person for four years of Romney, compared with actual numbers of $17,000 per person for four years of Obama.
Romney has been running the exact opposite of an apathetic campaign, many here have commented on his aggressiveness.

I don’t like Romney at all. I don’t like anything about him. I will only vote for him because I really, really hate Obama. I am having a difficult time seeing how a Romney presidency will change America for the better. Nevertheless, I will vote for anyone to defeat Obama.
