Private roads would work as some do in Texas now. Private road, Private hospitals, private schools. Who says that the government should do all these (and thousands of other things they are trying to do)? Who , marxists that's who.The difference between socialism and capitalism is private ownership. The government owns your property with property taxes. The only taxes allowed should be sales taxes and tariffs on china products and tariffs on other imports. Property taxes are an abomination, slavery , and socialism/Marxism.

Private roads would work in some areas, but not all. Lightly-trafficked private roads would not work, as user fees (or whatever other funding model used) would not be enough to cover maintenance/repairs/etc.

So you believe that government can do better than capitalism in managing roads. Yeah look at the horrible job they've done with government schools, public housing (government projects), EPA, TSA). These corrupt marxist, bureaucratic bastards couldn't run any of these things even if they really tried and some do but still can't . there is nothing in the Constitution that says government has the right to do any of the thousands of things they are doing like government schools. Just one example : here in this city , the city morons decided to build 18 dog parks at a cost of 25 million $ when the roads are terrible beyond belief. there are millions of examples of government insanity like this. I think private roads would work much better than government roads. Anyway they can't even build them or repair them as they pay private construction companies to do this. but the more privatization and less regulation the better, at all levels of government

It's just an abomination to me that people actually trust government to do things such as schools, roads , housing , hospitals etc.

Look in a private business you are accountable to the bottome line: so that means that you have to produce someone is willing to pay hard earned money for and that you have to be efficient, and please your customers. So you are accountable to your customers and to the bottom line. further more with competition , only the ones that are good succeed. there is no competition in government as they dictate to you what to do. Government bureaucrats are not accountable to the people. Try to tell the TSA what to do next time you are in an airport. If you have a problem with a bank, or restaurant , whatever you can call the manager and sometimes they listen to you but try that with the EPA, IRS, or TSA or the coming bloomberg soda police.

Government/socialism doesn't work. IN 99% of the cases capitalism can do a 1000 times better than government( yes in roads ,schools too).

Just one example: The EPA is crippling America's industries because of a lie called global warming. And this lie was created by government funded fake research at universities and institutions which rely on government funding. So all this research was all fake , bogus. there is no global warming. But the government says there is so they are shutting down coal power plants, industry etc. because they say oil, coal etc. are “dirty”, cause global warming and are destroying the planet. but all of that is a lie. you think the free market would have come up with decades of fake research and an EPA?
