Los Angeles County officials are investigating what appeared to be a pair of lungs found on a sidewalk in unincorporated South Los Angeles.

A citizen called to report what she thought were the organs about 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 13100 block of Avalon Boulevard, said Sgt. Robert Dean of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

NO, but seriously (really this time!) Shouldn’t we be concerned, just a little bit perhaps? Somewhere ought there there is a man or woman, worse yet, a member of an oppressed minority, who’s walking around missing a pair of lungs.

Oh, I used to take this place quite seriously.

Then one time last year I posted a roughly 500 word essay on the workings of the election process in a Constitutional Republic which got 26 replies, half of which were mine, thanking the other FReepers for reading and commenting.

So just for the heck of it, I posted an article about a woman in Michigan who claimed to be feeding Bigfoot with blueberry bagels. That thread ran to 90 responses.

Suddenly the true nature of the Forum became apparent.

Besides which, my natural attitude (at least according to my ex-wives) is one of cavalier wisecrackerey.

Ok, we are 30+ comments in, and have you learned anything useful?

Well as short as the news report was, I would say we have learned all there is to know imply by reading the headlines. What more could a person find out without other articles reporting more than this, or do you suppose FReepers have Crystal balls? As the other FReeper said, lighten up. People have found out all they are going to now, unless the authorities release more info, so they are making the best of a bad situation.Nothing wrong with humor, one of the most enduring traits of FReepers IMO.
