Famed Harvard Law School professor Alan Dershowitz continued his assault on State Attorney Angela Corey today, challenging her to a debate this morning on a Jacksonville news radio show.
The challenge comes less than a week after Dershowitzs article was published on Newsmax.com, ripping Corey for threatening to sue the university over his criticism of her actions in charging George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin shooting.
The quarrel began with Dershowitzs comments on Fox News Huckabee, in which he said Corey told half-truths to the court when she submitted an affidavit saying that there was a struggle in the shooting without disclosing that Zimmerman had also been injured...

The Circus comes to town.
The verb "assault" is a certain indicator of the author's bias.
Dersh will chew her up and spit out her bones.
Dersh should join the defense team, pro bono.
It’s time to resurrect the Code Duello....
Corey is going to clam up.
This is not going to happen. She wouldn’t need to be a bully if she could defend her actions in the first place.
“Dersh should join the defense team, pro bono.”
Seems to me he kind of already has.
Alan shouldn’t be so ungentelmanly as to try to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed woman.
Do the links work for anyone?
This is a grand liberal cause and Dershowitz is sticking a knife into it, at great risk to his liberal street cred, and being called a racist. Kudo’s to him, I guess he is not married to leftism after all.
I’ve never disagreed with anything Dershowitz has said concerning the law.
As for Corey’s threats, she truly believes she should be allowed to deny anyone’s right to free speech. She was appointed by a republican. He should “dis-appoint” her by firing her butt. This is why I’m just as afraid of the republicans taking away our rights as I am the democrats.
Got it to work. I must have a really bad connection.
Seems to me he kind of already has.
Here's what Dershowitz's involvement means: that Zimmerman can't be railroaded. It also means the most powerless person in the United States will get a fair trial. Prayers for Dershowitz... prayers of thanks.
Dipshitowicz and Allred are the same person. Either will do anything, anything to get in front of a camera.
Mark my words, when this Zimmerman thing blows over, and it will, he will be three times as vocal on the next liberal contrivance just to regain his elitist street cred.
She is also a Republican. Google her.
sigh.
I’m reminded of Richard Jewell who was tarred and feathered by the media as the suspect in the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics of placing the pipe bomb that he discovered on the grounds of Centennial Olympic Park. He was tried and convicted by the media, even though he was never charged by the police who, eventually found the real perpetrator. After all the dust settled, the question was asked “where does he go to get his reputation back?”
George Zimmerman is in exactly the same boat. Angela Corey charged him with 2nd degree murder based on the media’s relentless attacks on his character and their misrepresentations and outright manipulations of the evidence in the case in conjunction with the various race-baiters demanding his head. Corey should have known better, once she reviewed the evidence but, apparently, she’s never seen a media circus that she didn’t want to get in front of.
Now we have Alan Dershowitz weighing in and taking the circus to a whole new level. Maybe he’s right, maybe he isn’t, I’m past caring. But the question remains - long after the media have packed up their tents, gathered their elephants, lions, tigers and clowns and moved on to the next trumped up media event, where does George Zimmerman go to get his reputation and his life back?? Richard Jewell never recovered from the media smear attacks against him and, eventually, it cost him his life.
George Zimmerman won’t be able to walk into a “reputation store” and get his reputation back when he is exonerated. No one will apologize and no one will want him to be part of their neighborhood watch organization again. So, while Corey and Dershowitz try to get face time and appear relevent, the circus atmosphere rolls merrily along at George Zimmerman’s expense.
I have not always agreed with him, but I have always admired his legal acumen
