If as Obama claims the government sector is hurting (while the private economy is doing just fine) the reason is it is being smothered by paying for the unrealistic, and unaffordable promises made to government workers over the last 30 years.
There is no Democratic plan for the economy or budget for the government. Just one cobbled together slush fund after another directed at political supporters like unions and donors. The GOP needs to state these facts at every opportunity.
Teachers, police and firefighters. The unions need more “workers” to pay “dues” to subsidize the DNC.
He’s trying to find some way toa plurality, fighting from behind. The only non-minority (term loosely and incorrectly used here to include gays) votes he will get will come from the very far left, public sector employees and union workers. He’s trying toi get as many of these as he can because he has no chance of getting any other white votes. His calculus to victory is getting very difficult.
The book is well priced and embarrassingly why Barack Obama has fooled everyone....the man is a Marxist/Socialist who has no love for you or America...a community organizer is a communist organizer or an organizer for Socialism which is of course, a freedom buster of no small consequence.
The country is overloaded with firefighters! This is why they horn in to the EMT business these days. There simply are not enough fires to fight. Party due to safety measure like smoke detectors. Also due to letting China take so many industries so factories are not there to catch on fire
All is not well in Obamaland.
“Teachers, Police and Firefighters”. That’s what dems want us all to think is the entire public sector. T.P.F.’s don’t make up 1/100 of the public sector.

Tried this before. Porkulus. Saved some teachers for a short time until the money ran out, then they got laid off.
Ultimate irony. In touting the benefits of porkulus, Obama did a presser featuring a young teacher whose job had been saved. One year later, when the money ran out, there was a report that the same young teacher had been laid off.
His plan is just a booster to public employees unions to get them on board for the election. He doesn’t care a whit about long term.
They all just want to buy votes to re-elect their puppet.
The Obammunists are either stupid or evil. There is no other choice. Oh, Wait! Silly me! They might be stupid AND evil!
What they aren’t going to admit is most of these laid off ‘teachers’ aren’t even teacher’s...
PFT president Jerry Jordan said Tuesday that 270 of his members are receiving layoff notices, including 39 counselors, 85 people in the category covering parent ombudsmen and student advisers, 22 non-teaching assistants, and 97 supportive services assistants.
Other categories hit include secretaries, school operations officers, full-time class assistants, and six vocational teachers two in home economics and three in industrial arts, he said.
District spokesman Fernando Gallard confirmed that 270 layoff notices would be sent out Friday, effective June 30, in time for the next fiscal year.
He said they were largely the result of school-based budget decisions.

The beleaguered Clark County School District announced today it will send pink slips to 1,015 teachers and literacy specialists next month
175 literacy specialists, which include librarians and reading coaches

We never needed reading “coaches” because our TEACHERS and PARENTS taught us to read! Maybe if the unions stopped protecting illiterate teachers they wouldn’t need them either.
I say screw the public teachers and their unions. Public teachers are nothing but whores, yet, tax paying folks must buy the condoms to fund their cause.
Gee, let's see, a public teacher’ salary is paid by taxpayers taxes. A public teacher's healthcare insurance is paid by taxpayers taxes. A public teacher's retirement fund is paid by taxpayers taxes. So, what the heck does the public teacher contribute to their socialist dream?
A public teacher thinks, and expects, to have their entire life compensated by those who pay for the public teacher.
I say screw the public teachers and their unions because they are nothing but propoganda extortionist. Fire them, and then, let the public teachers fend for themselves, jobs, rather than sucking off the teat of government.
I know that thousands of Americans would easily fill the void left by the commie public teacher and the public teacher union.
OK, all you commmie teacher on FR, come get me.
Just so you commies know, I will be singing “God Bless America” at the graduation.
The city is proposing to offer buyouts to a pool of teachers who draw full salaries but have no permanent jobs, abandoning efforts to have them laid off but potentially solving one of Mayor Michael R. Bloombergs most intractable education issues.
At a speech Thursday morning before the Association for a Better New York, the New York City schools chancellor, Dennis M. Walcott, did not say how much the teachers would be offered but said the buyouts would be generous.
The pool, known as the absent teacher reserve, now numbers around 830 and consists largely of teachers whose positions have been lost through budget cuts or school closings but who cannot be laid off under the teachers contract because they have done nothing wrong.
Nearly a quarter of the teachers in the pool have been without regular teaching assignments for at least two years, and 44 percent have never formally applied for a new position at another school, according to the Education Department. The teachers union has claimed that the stigma of being in the pool has prevented good teachers from being hired by principals, but city officials and some principals have said many of the teachers are mediocre.

Gov. Mark Dayton vetoed a bill on teacher seniority Thursday that was authored by Sen. Pam Wolf (R-51), who represents part of Fridley.
Wolf’s bill, introduced last year to teacher-union criticism, passed the state Senate in February. It would end “last-in, first-out” (LIFO) seniority rules for teacher layoffs.
