On CNNs State of the Union on Sunday, senior Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod told host Candy Crowley that he rarely interacted with Attorney General Eric Holder in the White House and, contradicting recent testimony from Holder himself, claimed he never offered Holder political advice.
From time to time at the White House, I would see Holder at meetings and so on, but I rarely spoke to him, and I didnt ever speak to him on issues of policy in the Justice Department, Axelrod said. I didnt speak to him about personnel issues, other than at the beginning of the administration [when] I recommended a communications person to him.
Axelrod said that he was particularly concerned about protecting the Department of Justice from any undue White House influence or political pressure.
I was very sensitive to the fact, Candy, that in the last administration the political arm of the White House was very active in the Justice Department, to the extent that they were picking U.S. attorneys and guiding policy there in ways that were inappropriate, he continued. I was very scrupulous about my interactions with the attorney general, even though hes a friend.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Am I the only one reminded of Haldeman and Mitchell? We’ve been here before, and a lot of people got tossed under Nixon’s bus, too...
“From time to time at the White House, I would see Holder at meetings and so on, but I rarely spoke to him, and I didnt ever speak to him...”
Take out White House, and Holder, insert office and Ayers. Sound familiar?
Wow. It all comes down to “he did it” schoolyard excuses.
There are many similarities to the Nixon fall here. For it to mean anything, we would need to see Obama reelected and both the Congress and Senate with unstoppable GOP majorites.
Then the fun would really start.
I suppose there are some koolaid drinkers who really believe Ayers was “just this guy that lived in the same neighborhood”, too...
Watergate may have rid myself and others of a lot of our youthful idealism, but it also taught us a hard lesson about politicians with narcissistic and controlling personalities.
Liar liar pants -.... a super nova

LMAO!!!!!
Samer old excuse-they7 never learn-but with the technology available to everyone on a simple PC or cell phone, that excuse likely has a very short life...
Corrected Axelrod's sentence for grammar and punctuation. Hope that helps.
Let’s get rid of the “r” and the “7” and not watch news while typing.
I’ll be happy just to see even more ‘rats deserting the HMS Obama than are already going for the lifeboats now-public humiliation is a terrible thing for someone with his personality. And when the plebs/post-Roman mob are hungry, angry and have been denied the bread and circuses they were promised, it is even worse.
Axelrod... Obama’s brain.
The Dems used to falsely accuse Rove of making policy decisions, and now it turns out that Obama’s chief political operative, Mr. Axelrod, is making political decisions. But you can hear the sound of crickets once again coming from the media.
Every time I see Axelrod on TV, I am amazed at the Obama Campaign stupidity in using this guy as a spokesperson. he’a a Fat guy with a stupid mustache and comb-over who comes across as nothing more than a political hack. The only spokesperson who is probably worse is Debbie Wasserman-Schultz who we see less and less of. I am happy they think these clowns help them, but I am amazed they are so stupid to believe it.
Debbie Dingell ranks in the top five most annoying and creepy looking too. Must be nice to have your wife working as a mouthpiece for the Democrat party while “serving” (parking your butt) in Congress most of your miserable life.
******
Dingell has also has served as vice chairman of the General Motors Foundation and as executive director of Global Community Relations and Government Relations at GM. She is a member of the Democratic National Committee from Michigan and chaired Vice President Al Gores campaign in Michigan in 2000. In 2004, she also helped secure the Michigan Democratic primary and general election vote for John Kerry in Michigan.
She has been married to Michigan Congressman John Dingell for the past 28 years. John Dingell is the longest-serving member of the United States House of Representatives.
Debbie Dingell has followed many paths to power.
A granddaughter of an auto pioneer Fisher brother, she built a career at General Motors Corp., running its foundation. She’s the wife of 29-term U.S. Rep. John Dingell, a Democratic National Committee member, a television commentator and an elected member of the Wayne State University board of governors.
“Her power emanates from her husband,” said Bill Ballenger, editor of Lansing-based Inside Michigan Politics.
But she’s more than just Mrs. John Dingell, Ballenger notes: “She’s gone way beyond what other political wives have tried or been able to do. She’s here, there and everywhere. She’s a media maven. She’s very social, sits on all sorts of boards.”
In August 2009, she took a buyout and left her longtime General Motors’ career (she was executive director of global community relations and government relations and vice chairman of the GM Foundation).
Dingell, 56, today is president of D2 Strategies in Dearborn, is chair of the Metropolitan Affairs Coalition and is a consultant to the American Automobile Policy Council. The AAPC is an expanded version of the Automotive Trade Policy Council, the Detroit 3-backed international trade issue advocacy group.
Axelrod wouldn’t know the truth if it bit him on the butt...
Obamas senior campaign strategist, David Axelrod, took to CNNs State of the Union to defend the president. Without directly answering host Candy Crowleys question as to whether he agreed that the private sector was in good shape, Axelrod said its certainly doing better than the public sector.
The first quarter of this year was the best in terms of private sector job creation in six years, Axelrod said. What the president has said is that we need to take some urgent action, and he’s called on Congress to do that.
Asked whether Obamas comments would have a negative impact on his campaign, Axelrod said, I think the American people are smarter than that.
Don’t they have to put a mirror up next to the mouth of John Dingell just to check if he is still breathing?
CNN and the rest just want this President re-elected regardless of his flaws. It is a financial reason for them besides being a bunch of radical liberals.
She is not wearing too well either lately. She looked pretty darn rough on Fox News today. I guess riding the political gravy train your entire life is hard. /s
