Undoing health law could have messy ripple effects
By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR | Associated Press – 50 mins ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — It sounds like a silver lining. Even if the Supreme Court overturns President Barack Obama's health care law, employers can keep offering popular coverage for the young adult children of their workers.

But here's the catch: The parents' taxes would go up.

That's only one of the messy potential ripple effects when the Supreme Court delivers its verdict on the Affordable Care Act this month. The law affects most major components of the U.S. health care system in its effort to extend coverage to millions of uninsured people.

Because the legislation is so complicated, an orderly unwinding would prove difficult if it were overturned entirely or in part.

People who do stupid things leave big messes for others to clean up.

Just because there will be a big mess to clean up does not justify letting people continue doing stupid things.

Continued stupidity just means bigger messes to clean up later.

The "messy ripple effect" is that people might have to pay for whatever goodies they elect to receive?

Every day is a slow news day when your primary goal is to ignore the crimes being committed by your guy in the White Hut.

Without a doubt, this article is one of the most biased pieces of writing ever published. It is dripping with support for Obamacare. A truely disgusting example of media bias at its worst, even considering the sources.

Meh. This is just the typical level of bias we have come to expect.

Now I know how citizens of the USSR felt, when they saw their outlets, Pravda and Isvestia propagandizing them.

Not a doubt in my mind Sealybus and her black-hearted minions are busting their asses 24/7 to make this mess incredibly complicated and multifaceted.

Then, when the SCOTUS axe falls they will cry, “It’s just too big to let it fail.” You watch, mark my words.

"If it is overturned; it’s overturned."

Not really! If Obamacare eliminated some artifact of government, that artifact is gone. Eliminating Obamacare does not bring the artifact back. It would need a separate and extra bill to re-create it.

“messy ripple effects” are better than the Revolutionary War once again. I don’t think that that war was very pretty and it sure seems like we nedd another.

Why do you say that? If the employer pays part of the insurance premium for a person who is not categorized by the government as a lawful dependent, the amount they pay would be treated as taxable income to the parent.

The government doesn’t let anybody get anything from anybody else without the government taking their slice of the pie.

Bring on the pain of the un-doing! So my kid has to get his own coverage before 26? Boohoo!

The real losers are any corporate interests that bought into this utopian nightmare! Suits you right!
