Some years ago, I inadvertently (really) stumbled onto a video of some Afghan mujahadeen severing the head off a young Russian soldier using what appeared to be a dull knife. I’m pretty hardened to this world, but I readily admit it drew tears to my eyes.

I wish I had never seen it. I will never again watch such a thing. It just does something to your very soul.

I watched the Berg beheading. I'll never click on another of these links again. There's a "morbid curiosity," and then there's mental masochism.

I wonder if that was the same one I saw. My reaction was similar, although it wasn’t tears for me; I felt like I was going to pass out.

And yes, it does something to your soul. We can talk about evil but seeing it in action, boastful and acting as if it was righteous, is more than I can stomach. It reminded me of how I felt when I saw the footage of the mass graves at Auschwitz and Buchenwald.

When he was embedded in Iraq, Michael Yon mentioned the story in one town, where it was claimed that AQ in Iraq had baked a 12-year-old boy and served him to his family as a message to the whole village to not bother trying to resist. I wish my son hadn’t heard that story; it traumatized him, much like “The Flames of Rome” account of Nero’s persecution of Christians. He could not finish that book, and wished he had never read what he did.

Evil is real. There are demons who control real people, and it is right-now, right-here real. And the person occupying our White House sides with them.

Here’s what I posted in another thread regarding an alleged quote by a disenchanted democrat who noted that Obama views the drone assassinations almost like a porn addict views porn:

It should tell us something if the people around the Obama people are watching Obama’s porn-like fascination with drone assassinations and saying things like this:

“The Old Man said it – this is a war we are fighting here. Call it us against them – good vs evil…whatever. Call it whatever. I don’t give a sh-t what you wanna call it – just as long as we win and they lose, because if they win – it’s like Obama said himself – the fundamental transformation of America. They gonna tell us what to think. What to eat. What to drink. What to read. What to watch. And if somebody don’t like that…then you’ll be on a list now won’t you. And an order will be given. And later, sitting up in some second floor study will be that skinny ass Manchurian piece of sh-t playing it over and over again.”

Basically what we’ve got here is people recognizing that the foreign enemy combatant in our White House is about to make the 9-11 attack look like a walk in the park, if we give him the “latitude” of a 2nd term. Right after 9-11, party affiliation didn’t matter. For a short while we were just Americans - except for the people like those in Dearborn, MI who were dancing in the streets and the people like Jeremiah Wright who was telling his large “flock’ in Chicago that those people deserved to die in that way. For a while it didn’t matter to me that Rudy Guliani (sp?) was pro-choice; it only mattered that he recognized that the American way of peace and freedom was under attack and must prevail.

Obama was supposed to be this great uniter. Well, he is uniting people - uniting those who actually love what America stands for, like cream being separated out and gathering at the top. But he’s also an extreme divider, because his vision is so extreme that there is no way to sit on the fence. Either you favor drones flying all over America with Obama having the ability to use them to assassinate any American he wants to, at the touch of a button..... or you don’t. There’s no wiggle room there.

All they can do is try to hide from the public the reality that this is where we’re at right now. And that’s exactly what they’re trying to do.

..............................................................

I watched it too!

I watch each and every one because I want to know why we MUST fight.

I watch with tears in my eyes!

I watch with a white hot hatred in my heart!

It hurts, but I watch!

After watching that same video of the Russian conscript I spoke with the pathologist at the hospital where I worked, and he told me 20 seconds of consciousness, max.
Hope this helps. I also believe God delivers people from the pain and fear at times like these when they are such courageous martyrs.

I watched the beheading of Nick Berg and it seems to be burned into my eye balls. Once seen can never be taken out of your head.

But I don't regret watching it ONE time, so that I will never forget the Pieces of Islam.

I saw the body of a young Indonesian Christian girl laying on the autopsy table. This young girl was one of three who had been waylaid on their way to school and beheaded. Only hell could think of such evil.
