There have been tons of Trayvon threads, so we all know this for what it is.

That being said, (and this being an ‘old’ report), I sympathize with the feelings that the Mother and Father had over the loss of their son. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, no matter the circumstances.

What should also be remembered, is that the Mother and Father seemed to have no problems accepting the fate of their son, for almost a month after it happened. THEN... someone ‘latched’ onto the case and passed the info on up the chain, and the MEDIA and POLITICIANS got involved, and suddenly everything changed.

The parents have been dancing on the lid of their son’s coffin ever since. I hope Trayvon can forgive them, eventually.

I just keep thinking back at the Angela Corey "press conference" referring to Trayvon's "sweet family," and I could barf.
Perhaps they did the best they could, but they raised a hood, fercryingoutloud! Both visually and actually, judged by all available information, including his facebook statements and tweets.
Any person of any race who wears a hoodie in 80 or 90-degree weather is a criminal in fact or in inclination. Why argue about that?
Even if the First Racist's son looks like that, if he had a son, that means less than nothing to me.

I object to the pejorative phrase “self appointed”. We could say the exact same about the OWS crowed or indeed about various community “organizers”. In that context, Zimmerman was just as much a community organizer as the Just-us Brothers are today.
