Its bye-bye, Beltway for Cory Booker.
Newarks mayor, who was gunning for a spot in President Obamas Cabinet, lost the chance after he shot his mouth off during a blunderingly honest TV appearance last month, sources told The Post.
Hes dead to us, one ranking administration official said of the prevailing feelings at the White House and Obama headquarters in Chicago.
Booker had been angling for the housing secretary gig in a second Obama term, according to sources in the administration and close to the mayor.
The job was certainly a possibility, given Bookers work in New Jerseys biggest city, according to administration and Democratic Party sources.
Thinking highly of Booker, Obamas campaign asked him to appear on Meet the Press on May 20 to act as a mouthpiece, but he proceeded to eviscerate one of the presidents key campaign themes.
Booker told a national TV audience the presidents attacks on Mitt Romneys record at private-equity firm Bain Capital were nauseating and made him very uncomfortable.
I have to just say from a very personal level, Im not about to sit here and indict private equity, said Booker, a rising Democratic star tapped by the presidents campaign as a surrogate speaker for Obama. If you look at the totality of Bain Capitals record, theyve done a lot to support businesses.
Almost immediately, top Obama aides were speed-dialing Booker, insisting he backpedal from his comments before returning to the Garden State. But the mayor wouldnt do that.
Booker further enraged them by waiting until that night to post an online video that was neither cleared by the campaign nor acceptable to Obama strategists...

Booker, Deval Patrick, Bill Clinton, Ed Rendell ... it's getting awfully crowded under that bus so this might seem to be more than a strange coincidence. These players probably all have access to the 'rats internal polling.
If Zero crashes and burns in November, they can all say they warned him.
Booker is way better off not associated with obummer.
Booker told the truth. In the end, America will be better off for it.
Dial it back, excuses, etc. All of that doesn’t matter, anymore than it will for the the things Clinton and others have said this week.
Besides, when Obama loses there will be no Obama cabinet position to consider anyway.

Who really is Barack Obama?

Now that the DemoKlan has publicly admitted that they have their long knives out for Cory Booker, that he might actually beat them to the punch and switch to the Republican party, where he would be much happier, welcome, and at home?
It is really difficult to think of a single 0bot who can do a job well.
Could be everybody is over that particular snit-fit.
Worth a try. Give Cory a call.
Obama said` “Booker was dead to them!”! What loyalty does he owe them to peddele their lies?
Get safe Cory, and join the true believers and get away from the hordes of the Demned!
Well, maybe those conservative Democrats under the bus will become the core of a new Democratic party...it would be refreshing to have a worthy ideological opponent again once the left wing self-destructs. There was a time when I could respect Democrats and even occasionally vote for them - Zell Miller, for example.
That is until they need his help in rigging the Newark vote again for Obama, and then all will be forgiven.
He’s been doing a pretty good job in Newark. He’s better off disconnecting himself from obama.
Booker has earned a place in Heaven rescuing people from a burning building. Mr. Booker spoke the truth as well.
Cory Booker was born in April 1969. Just sayin'.
Job requirement: Ability to lie while keeping a straight face and ignoring obvious facts. Willing to break law is a plus. Additional skills required for Justice Department.
A man who understands the free enterprise system? And a hero to boot? He is better than a lot of worthless RINO’s in the party. Open the door, welcome him in.
But his solutions usually involve participation and responsibility on the part of the recipient, with an eye on a finish line where the recipient is self-supporting and in charge of his own life. He speaks the language of empowerment rather than dependence.
Additionally, he appears to be honest, which greatly distinguishes him from the vast ass-talking majority of his party. Plus, he helped oust the former mega-corrupt mayor Sharpe James and put his ass in prison.
He's a liberal, but he's OK.
I think Booker is most likely looking towards a battle with Christy (which he'd probably win) or Lautenberg's Senate seat (which he'd definitely win).
Farther down the road, I see Booker in a "good vs. evil" battle for the Democratic nomination with Andy Cuomo, who has been appearing in his latest charade as a no-nonsense, fiscally conservative,middle-of-the-roader.
But with Andy, it's a complete facade, hiding the corrupt leftwing gangster Michael Corleone, following in his old man's footsteps.
Sincere or not, both Booker and Cuomo already signal change. For the next twenty years at least, everybody in the Democratic Party will be trying to get right of Obama.
If Romney needs a Democrat for the Cabinet, Booker might be a good choice. A lot of Presidents have at least one Cabinet secretary from the other party.
A walk in the park for normal people. Lots of room there.
Ain't gettin' my hopes up, though.
