Oh, the irony...

This is an important development … in 2000 the Florida margin in Bush v. ALGORE was only 537 votes

Send Gov Scott an email showing your support

“If the effect of the NVRA (Motor Voter) is to force a state to allow never-eligible non-citizens the opportunity to vote,” he wrote, “then the statute might violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution, which guarantees that the right to vote cannot be denied by a dilution of the weight of a citizen’s vote.”

As for the Voting Rights Act claim, Detzner wrote, Florida already received federal permission to remove noncitizens, which is clearly spelled out in Florida law.

What’s more, the Voting Rights Act applies to only five Florida counties — Monroe, Hillsborough, Collier, Hardee and Hendry — and not the other 62 in Florida, including Miami-Dade, where about 1,600 of the 2,700 potential noncitizens were initially identified by the state in a database created by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

About 500 people in Miami-Dade have been found to be lawful citizens and voters, and 13 noncitizens have been found. Two of them might have voted and could face prosecution. The county has been unable to verify the citizenship of more than 1,100 others.

Assuming the purge halts, those people could vote this year — even if some are noncitizens.

"Not a single eligible voter as far, as I know, has been removed from the voter rolls," Scott said Wednesday on WNDB radio in Daytona Beach, according to a News Service of Florida transcript. "Not one. And we’re working to keep it that way."

"Their vote should not be diluted by people who don’t have the right to vote," Scott said. "We need to be reviewing our voter rolls and making sure only those individuals who have the right to vote … are voting."

“This hardly seems like an approach earnestly designed to protect the integrity of elections and to ensure that eligible voters have their votes counted,” said the letter, written by Scott’s hand-picked secretary of state, Ken Detzner, a fellow Republican.

Detzner also submitted a list of four questions that he wants the DOJ to answer:

Sancho said that the purge would not be successfully executed without the cooperation of supervisors like himself.

Scott's swift and certain reply should be, "You're fired."

Sancho:.."I was independently elected by the dead and illegal voters of my county and I work for them."

That's better.

just called the governor’s office (850-488-7146)

they are aware of this tool and what he’s said

i asked them to confirm that this person works under the governor, and they said yes. i asked that this person, and all others not following the governors orders, be fired immediately

i also requested that the governor continue to remove the dead from the voting rolls.

I’d like to see all voter rolls purged every 10 years or so and you have to go and provide ID to re-register.

Can anyone explain how having dead, illegal or felon voters canceling out your vote protects the majority of voters who are playing by the rules?

"We are the hands, legs, head, feet and eyes of this process," said Sancho...

You are fired.

Easy.

Ok, I looked it up. Leon County is the county that Tallahassee, our capitol is located in
94 thousand Democrats registered
48 thousand Republicans
28 thousand Others ( Florida has No party affiliation and maybe some minor parties)
The Florida panhandle is all conservative and GOP EXCEPT for Leon County.
So I hope Governor Scott can do something about this dunderhead who refuses to follow orders of the commander in chief of his state.

The purging of voters in Florida will have to be a surgical endeavor as to not purge the votes of conservative Cubans in Miami Dade and not purge to votes of conservatives in the Florida panhandle.

Things that do not surprise you...

Ion Sancho, Supervisor of Elections for Leon County, watches as FAMU students march towards him at the Leon County Courthouse

And that march that he appears to be so enthusiastic about?

Sure, here you go...

Florida announced Wednesday afternoon it would ignore the Department of Justice's demands to stop its controversial voter purge

To the outright Communists that infest Marxist Socialist News By Communists (M.S.N.B.C.), this is NOT controversial, unless to you communist bastards, stopping fraud is a controversy.

Gah.

The answer is simple - increase to penalties for vote fraud until no one would think of perpetrating it. (Bring back the chain gangs for those who would disenfranchise others through vote fraud!)

From this past February:

Protesters marched alongside FAMU students, legislators and members of the NAACP this morning in defense of their voting rights.

The 10th Annual State of Black Florida Conference continued earlier today with several morning events designed to arm the black community with political knowledge.

The group of a little more than 100 people marched from the Leon County Civic Center to Waller Park at the Capitol – the area between the Supreme Court and the back steps of the Capitol – and held a rally to protest against laws they said hindered their voting rights.

Leon County Supervisor of Elections Ion Sancho said the laws Gov. Rick Scott signed into effect last session are meant to confuse and frustrate voters to keep them away from the polls.

Ion Sancho, Leon County's supervisor of elections, told the PoliticsNation host that Republican Gov. Rick Scott can "do all he wants of this partisan endeavor" but that Sancho would not participate in a process he sees as illegal, adding that he spoke for a good number of his fellow supervisors.

The majority of us "will not conduct any illegal activity," Sancho told Sharpton. "We're going to ensure our voters are protected."

I don't think Ion Sancho DOES speak for "a majority" of his fellow supervisors. Leon County is probably the most liberal country north of South Florida in the state. Monroe, Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach make up the unholy Quad of Liberalism in South Florida, and Leon County (home of Tallahassee) is where Sancho the punk resides.

Time for Governor Scott to appoint a special taskmaster over Sancho the Punk, to make certain the will of the people of Florida is obeyed.

Election officials who knowingly allow their constituents votes to be diluted with fraudulent votes should be prosecuted and imprisoned.
