He helped the GOP win the House majority in 2010 and make big gains in the Senate. His Obamacare has helped revive the Commerce Clause and given a boost to conservative jurisprudence. His refusal to support human rights has caused a bipartisan revulsion and reminded us that foreign policy must be girded by American values. He’s sent independents running into the GOP’s arms. He’s forced conservatives to think hard and express eloquently principles of religious liberty, limited government, free markets and Constitutional democracy.

We never know exactly what’s going on behind the scenes, but you could believe that some Democrats, such as the Clintons, would like to see Obama lose this election. Then, in 2016, Hillary can come in and save the day, after four years of Romney.
Whereas, if Obama is re-elected, America may be so sick of Obama and Democrats after eight years, that any Democrat could have a hard election in 2016 to succeed Obama.
It is kind of satisfying to think that the longest lasting legacy Obama will leave is the backlash which arose againast him.
