I was talking with a young man who graduated high school last week and has joined the National Guard in Indiana.
He said he is being sent to Egypt eventually. I thought I had misunderstood him and said "Egypt?"
He said, "Yes, and my Dad and I thought/wondered the same thing."
Why would our NG be going to Egypt? Is it part of a NATO deployment? I haven't heard anything about this on the news, etc.
I have read many suspect Obama had a role in overthrowing Murabek, and is in bed with the Muslim Brotherhood.
Anybody has insight into this?
BTW, Congrats on your state Diana. WHOO HOO!!!
It’s been a long standing rotation for us. Part of the Sani Peace keeping force. Mainly a US Army Guard tasking.

Thanks for the info everyone. Didn’t know we had troops in Egypt.
hummm, I’ve know a few Army Reservists that have volunteered for peace keeping duties over there since OIF. On the Sinai iicrc, rather boring duty except for the resupply trips to Cairo.
With all current RIF taking place maybe the great thinkers in DoD have decided to use NG troops instead of Active troops to save money...I dunno for sure this is just a guess.
National Guard troops support the multinational force supervising the security provisions of the Egypt/ Israel Peace Treaty.
Lifeguard duty in the Sinai...Nice easy deployment..
