Fiscal Conservatives Have Been Raped By The Republican Party
Right Side News ^ | 04 June 2012 | AMERICAN DREAM

What the Republican Party has done to fiscal conservatives over the past year and a half has been a betrayal so vast that it is difficult to find words to describe it. Back in 2010, the Tea Party was riding high and a flood of new Republicans was sent to the U.S. House of Representatives in one of the greatest landslides in U.S. political history. On election night 2010, more House seats changed hands than in another other election since 1948.

The first mistake was electing Boner as Speaker.

It’s been downhill since then.

The problem (and as I'm approaching the tender age of 69, I've been following politics for some time) is that whenever the Republi-Tards are in control (which hasn't been that often) they have never learned how to "ACT" as if they were in charge or had a majority.

The are for the most part, spineless, weak, wusses who allow the RATS (who even when they are in the minority exert way too much influence thru intimidation, threats, cajoling and bamboozling the feckless fools, the "R's") to run roughshod over them.

Granted the Libs have the media on their side, but I'm betting if the Weeper of the House (Bone-er) and the leadership as well as the completely useless RINO, McConnell, exhibited any backbone and stood firm, they would have the "people" on their side.

The RATS have it in their genes to fight dirty, take no prisoners and the ends justify the means; too bad the "Tards" have never learned to take a page from their (Alinsky/Socialist/Commie) playbook and fight fire with fire.

The ol' boys network is hard to overcome based on seniority and I'm not sure how to sidestep the entrenched, inside-the-beltway, Elitists, no matter how many Conservative "T-Party" types we elect and send to DC.

ANY suggestions???

Fiscal conservatives have not been raped by the mainstream RINO’s. After a rape, the perp usually never sees the victim again. In this case, fiscal conservatives have been violated for years, like a sex slave locked in a dungeon.

My Congressman follows Boehner’s lead, he would probably follow a fiscal Conservative Speaker if we had one. The Congressman is much like Rick Santorum, socially conservative but not fiscally conservative. I voted FOR Congressman Nunnelee’s opponet in the primary but will do what I have to do in the general election.

I fully agree that House Republicans have not done what they should.

However, had they done what the author seems to think they should, shut down the government, the results would not have been to his liking.

Whether we like it or not, and I certainly don’t, government spending is entwined within our entire society. Suddenly and massively shutting it down would result in an instant economic depression, with unemployment probably upwards of 20%, massive defaulting on debts, etc.

There is also the moral and legal aspect. Many millions of people and businesses have entered on good faith into contracts to provide goods and services to the government. For the government to suddenly renege on those contracts would be both immoral and illegal.

The US government and its spending has massive inertia. It just cannot suddenly be stopped or put into reverse. It took us decades to get into this mess and will no doubt take decades to get out.

What bothers me much more is that with rare exceptions few in Congress appear to understand the crisis we’re in or the changes that must be made. While we can’t fix it instantly, we can be working towards a fix. And they aren’t.

According to a recent article in the Washington Times, Romney admitted that he has absolutely no plans to balance the federal budget in his first year during a recent campaign stop....

“My job is to get America back on track to have a balanced budget. Now I'm not going to cut $1 trillion in the first year”

So why aren't fiscal conservatives howling in outrage?

It is because they are so scared of another term for Obama that they are willing to go along with just about anything.

They are even willing to vote for Mitt Romney.

Social conservatives matter even less to Romney. People voted romney in only out of fear of obama and believed the elitist lies that only romney can win. They selected him after all and think we aren't sophisticated enough to know what we really want or need. They protected romney in the primary, knowing that obama will vet romney1000x worse than any primary challenger ever would. Now romney says conservatives will vote for him even though he refused to come to a single social conservative event. Many, including some here, fall for the lies of the ruling eleftist in the republican party that romney is going to be conservative. IF romney wins, (I don't think he can beat obama once obama tells the world who romney really is-too bad the gop protected romney from being vetted) I'll bet buyers remorse will set in quickly, then 2016 will pave the way for a true choice for conservatives; a third party where the constitution is respected; where career politicians are not allowed, where God is invited and and the voice of the people is listened to and not looked down on.

Why can't more people see that it is not just obama who is stealing our children's future to gain power and lining their pockets by helping their friends? romney is a player and some will look back and see they were the biggest fools for believing a serial liar. We exchange one leftist for another.

We all know obama is a nightmare, but I think a lot of people will be losing sleep over romney. Pray for a miracle at the convention.

The whole CR and debt ceiling dances are political traps and subterfuge. Real budgets and legislation, passed by both houses and signed into law are the real solution.

I’m pleased with the house since 2010. For example, had we won the senate, the house bill to repeal Obamacare would have passed.

Of course Obama would not have signed it.

Which is why we need to keep the house and win the senate and replace Obama with a president who will sign such legislation.

Elections matter.

If you want to blame a Republican Speaker blame Hastert. He and Frist controlled the Congress and did nothing to slow government spending. Boehner has always been a minority in the total Congress. Give him and McConnell a majority in both houses then judge them on their results. In the mean time read this article a couple of times, let it sink in, then hold your fire awhile......http://townhall.com/columnists/michaelmedved/2012/06/06/economic_truth_is_in_the_numbers

I have zero trust for romney. He has zero respect for conservatives. The eleftist in the RNC better start pollling, because their are a lot of conservatives, like me and my family, who won’t vote for any kind of evil; even the lessor. Maybe they don’t really want to or care if they win. It’s all a poker game to them.

Unfortunately, ultimately, this is politics. And it has to be won politically.

We likely agree that Romney is a politician. Political pressure can work against politicians. Electing conservative senators and representatives, passing conservative legislation and pressuring the president to sign is all political.

I believe this is possible with Romney; I know it’s impossible with Obama.

Thanks for your reply.

How much we're spending is only part of the problem. The other side of the coin is who's doing the spending.

IMHO, we need to start transferring that spending to the States, along with the tax base needed to support it, and let them start figuring out how to get us backed out of it. DC is too far removed and insulated from the taxpayers to have any incentive to change.

Very correct. Government spending is a component of GDP. One reason we aren't technically in a recession is that government spending is up persistently. Take away the $1 trillion in deficits exceeding W's and our GDP is that much lower. It's the main reason there hasn't been a budget passed since obie's first one.

Once the administration established new baseline expenditure levels - including the stimulus, they determined to operate on continuing resolutions; maintaining spending levels off of the last legitimate budgeting authority. The end result is that we get the continued spending of a $700+ billion stimulus each year.

How disappointed our forefathers would be that we don't fight, but have given up our nation to politics. “this is the most important election.because .....is so evil...” I am trusting God over a proved liar, actually two proven liars. If I give my vote to a known baby killer, helper of those who want to teach our children gay marriage and gay adoption is normal, approves of cap and trade and a cult member (idol worshiper) what have I become? I will be saying I trust this liar....more than I trust God, by doing what is right when it's really hard to stand with God. I will not have to answer to God why I gave any person power to do what I know is wrong.

I don’t have the same restrictions as you on the religion of a candidate. I do have some of course, but I would not vote against a member of the LDS for this reason alone.

I understand you position, but disagree that it is the high moral or religious ground.

thanks much for your reply.

What a schmuck. Back on planet earth, the Democrats have the Presidency and Senate. They also control the media, and the American people are fat, lazy, and ignorant of their own ignorance. They rather onanize to “Reality TV” than to pay attention to politics or the economy. The American people did not state with conservatives during the debt fight last summer. The American people want the debt or are to stupid to act otherwise. Having a hissy fit changes nothing.

2010 was the beginning of the end for RINO’s. Walker in Wisconsin just showed where we are going.

In 2012 the Tea Party and conservatives will win more seats and either get rid of Boehner as Speaker or FORCE him to do OUR bidding and not his and McConnell’s.

Or they can get targeting next.
