Obama worried PA not interested in peace

US President tells meeting of Orthodox Jewish leadership that his support falls with Israel when it comes to peace.

WASHINGTON -- US President Barack Obama is worried that Palestinian leadership was no longer as interested in advancing toward peace, he said in a conversation with Orthodox Jewish leaders on Tuesday.

During the conversation, an Orthodox Union (OU) official asked Obama what lessons he had learned about promoting Israeli-Palestinian peace, considering how his first two years in office had been marked by tensions with Israel.

When it came to Israel, Obama asked the group not to doubt his "fidelity" to their cause.

Participants said that Obama rejected the notion that he was even-handed in his attempts to revive Israeli-Palestinian peace talks; he insisted that the US posture was pro-Israel, for instance, in his calls for making Israel's security needs paramount in any final status deal.

He said his calls to freeze settlement expansion reflected the same positions of his four predecessors, and blamed differences with Israel in part on the quirk of history of a centrist US government and a right-wing Israeli government coexisting.

Obama said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wanted to act without restraints, but that he understood him -- most leaders want to act without restraints.

“When it came to Israel, Obama asked the group not to doubt his “fidelity” to their cause.”

I don’t doubt his fidelity. How can one doubt that which is manifestly absent?

“Participants said that Obama rejected the notion that he was even-handed in his attempts to revive Israeli-Palestinian peace talks;”

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSQnfSfAsPM

” he insisted that the US posture was pro-Israel, for instance, in his calls for making Israel’s security needs paramount in any final status deal.”

Posturing, posturing, posturing.

“He said his calls to freeze settlement expansion reflected the same positions of his four predecessors,”

Except for Bush, who had a standing agreement to not stop natural growth of existing settlements, which O discarded.

” and blamed differences with Israel in part on the quirk of history of a centrist US government and a right-wing Israeli government coexisting.”

No coexistence. Elect the puppet of my choice, or else.

“Obama said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wanted to act without restraints, but that he understood him — most leaders want to act without restraints.”

Benjamin Netanyahu wants to raze the homes of mitnahalim without restraints, which is why he killed the regulation bill. BHO wants to act without restraints, so is finding ways around Congress.

His approach isn't working, so blame the PA. It's better to blame someone, anyone, than take responsibility. To Israel he can blame the PA. To the PA he will likely blame Israel.

He has been good at making up things out of wool cloth, speaking them forth, doing the opposite, and thinking he can fool with the lie. He is an expert at telling people what they want to hear, hoping that because they want to hear it, they will believe it. Jews wake up and watch what he does, not what he says. He is anything, but pro Israel!!!

As Netanyahu has said (just recently) ... “peace is nice” ... but that’s not the FIRST PRIORITY for Israel. “Keeping the Palestinians out of Israel” is the FIRST PRIORITY.

If “peace happens” that will be nice - but it’s not essential. It’s the “First Priority” which is essential.

See the following ...

PM Netanyahu addresses Institute for National Security Studies 29-May-2012
http://www.facebook.com/GW.IFA/posts/425731987458529

GWIFA: People would do well to TAKE NOTE of the official policy position of Israel (and P.M. Netanyahu) towards creating a Palestinian State.

Quote from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ...
I would like to speak about the goals of peace, the manner in which to attain it, and above all, the conditions necessary to uphold it.

A PEACE AGREEMENT WITH THE PALESTINIANS IS NECESSARY FIRST AND FOREMOST TO PREVENT A BI-NATIONAL STATE.

It is preferable to live in peace. PEACE IS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER SITUATION, BUT WE NEED TO PREVENT A BI-NATIONAL STATE, as well as strengthen the future of Israel as a Jewish and democratic country.

[GWIFA says here: PLEASE NOTE ... that the FIRST PRIORITY is NOT “peace” as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says. The FIRST PRIORITY is to PREVENT a BI-NATIONAL STATE ... namely to PREVENT a state where Israel annexes all that territory, and Israel becomes a “bi-national state” - which is a state divided between two nationalities - and thus ends up in the DESTRUCTION of the nation of Israel as the “homeland for the Jews”.

NOTE AGAIN - the FIRST PRIORITY - is NOT PEACE. This is a mistaken impression that a lot of people have with what Israel is doing in creating a Palestinian State!]

We do not want to rule over the Palestinians, NOR DO WE WANT THE PALESTINIANS TO BE CITIZENS OF THE STATE OF ISRAEL.

That is why THREE TIMES - in my speech at Bar-Ilan, in my speech in the Knesset and later in my speech at the American Congress - I DECLARED THAT I SUPPORT AND WELCOME PEACE BETWEEN TWO NATION-STATES - A DEMILITARIZED PALESTINIAN STATE that recognizes the Jewish state, and Israel, the nation-state of the Jewish people.

And I disagree totally with Bibi. A bi-national state is better than a two-state solution. Annex, and give Palis the option of Israeli citizenship, just as they already have that option in Jerusalem. Most will, as a matter of Arab pride, refuse to apply for citizenship. Those that do will not threaten to form an electoral majority. A two-state solution, however, will mean a militarized Pali state no matter what, dedicated to the destruction of Israel. Israel is already a multinational state, including within its boundaries Kurds, Armenians, Druze, and Samaritans, as well as Christian and Muslim Arabs. Jews are in the majority. But it’s delusional to think that a bi-national state can be avoided. It’s already much more complicated than that, and the other nationalities depend on Israel to keep the Sunni and Shiite Muslims from destroying them.
