Throw the GOPe off the republican national convention like was done in Michigan.

Would my candidate get the delegates then? Or is this only for Ron Paul?
:)
It looks like the lunch break Noon-2PM and Dinner(~7PM) Friday may be the best times to try to organize something.
I have limited knowledge of the Ft. Worth area, but have been to Edelweiss German Restaurant and Cooper's BBQ and enjoyed both.
The last time I went was when Gov. Perry ran for office for the first time on his own.
I am going this time with the fire in my belly and anger over how this has been played by GOPe.
Whatever it takes to defeat Obozo, but there is a price that will be extracted against the “leadership” in DC. I warned them months ago not to think that the grass roots is not watching their antics. Their behavior warrants punishment.
I’m just talking about getting the RINOs off the national committee (I said convention) Beyond that, do what ya gotta do for you.
SAVE AMERICA CHOSE A REAL CONSERVATIVE |
I’m pretty sure Gracey said she would be there .
I saw no precinct meeting notice at the election site on the 29th. The precinct convention meeting got right past me, I’m ashamed to confess! Delegates for county conventions were selected there.
Guess the county conventions were scheduled shortly thereafter, given the late election, wherein the delegates for state convention are selected.
The RINOS will be prepared to take all the heat they get as long as in the end, delegates do as they’re told and vote for the socialist at the top of the Republican ticket.
This way they know they don’t have to change their tactics, so long as we keep complying, in exchange for them taking a little griping.
I think the “state establishment” is going to take some hits. Some of the current players are going down. TX has never been a friendly environment for Libs. Even the Dems here “were” conservative (past tense).
We shall see how this plays out. Our county chairman and I see these things exactly the same way. I was a GOP County Chairman when I lived in NM in the Early & Mid 1980’s. Been there done that.
By the way, most of the counties had no Precinct conventions because of the late primary. We elected to have only a county convention. The delegates were selected there.
At my first convention, the battle was between the MOD squad and Conservatives. This convention will likely have another challenge from the Ron Paul faction that views everyone else as the enemy instead of working with those delegates who agree with them on 90% of the issues to push for more limited government and like-minded candidates.
The Cruz vs. Dewhurst race will likely play a big part. It looks like they gave Dewhurst a prominent speaking slot in the 1st Friday Session right after KBH and Cornyn. Coincidence? I might be a little late for that as well as the Combs/Straus session later that day.
I had been to a couple of state conventions before Gov. Perry’s. My exposure goes back into the late 1970’s in NM.
My first GOP state convention here in TX was the one I spoke of. Gov Perry’s first election without W.
I think all the county conventions were held April 14th and 21st. We probably should have done a better job of alerting everyone on FR. Sorry.
I will be there. Anyone want to have a Freeper lunch on Friday or Sat?
Who is eligible to become a delegate to the State Convention?
All delegates and alternates are elected at county or senatorial district conventions that were held on either April 14 or April 21, 2012. At each local convention, a Nominations Committee recommended a slate of names to bring before the full convention for consideration.
Just curious as to how one is actually "nominated" as a delegate? Are they typically business leaders, local/state politicians, office holders? Who are they generally speaking?
you must eat at Joe T’s!
In some counties, they split up into precincts to caucus to elect delegates/alternates. In other's there is a Nominations Committee that selects them. The Permanent Chair who is approved by the convention body will appoint the committee. In some counties, there is a combination. But, ultimately, it is determined(directly or indirectly) by whoever shows up.
I haven’t found a link to Joe T’s. Can you provide one?
I have other duties as well as being a delegate so you folks decide when and where and I’ll be there if I can make it!
