This is the opposite Giuliani’s approach to bringing down the crime rate. Giuliani enforced all of the ‘little laws’ that weren’t being enforced ... his thinking being that if you don’t enforce all the laws, then people develop a mindset that it is ok to break the law.

To liberals, drugs are cool, society is too uptight about drugs and related issues, drugs should be treated the same as alcohol, etc. So, the liberal view is that we should not be concerned about drug use.
On the other hand, people drinking a big gulp are getting too much sugar. So, for their own good, we have to downsize the drinks.
It does seem odd, that we’re supposed to be worried about people getting too much sugar, but not worried about them getting involved with drugs.
To be a good liberal, sometimes you have to have unusual reasoning abilities to justify liberal policies.
Police will be given the go ahead to gun you down in the street for smoking a cigarette while drinking a big gulp.
