Parents of Adolf Hitler denied custody

A New Jersey judge ruled the parents of four children with Nazi-inspired names will not get custody of their kids.

Adolf Hitler Campbell, 6, and his two sisters, Joycelynn Aryan Nation Campbell, 5, and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, 4, have been in state custody since shortly after a Holland Township grocer refused to decorate a birthday cake for the boy's third birthday, The (Newark, N.J.) Star-Ledger reported Wednesday.

State officials allegedly took custody of a newborn son, Hons Campbell, just hours after his birth in November.

Now, a Superior Court judge has decided that self-proclaimed Nazis Heath and Deborah Campbell cannot have custody of their children.

"These kids weren't abused. Our kids weren't taken because of abuse," Heath Campbell said. "I'm honest about who I am and what I am."

Lawyers in the case are prohibited from talking to the media by a gag order, but Kristine Brown, spokeswoman for the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services, said, "every call or investigation that DYFS initiates at the end of the day is to determine if the child is at risk or in the midst of child abuse and neglect."

"If I have to give up my Nazism, then so be it. I'll do it,"

As the boy grows up his friends will all be asking, “Will you quit acting like a little Hitler????”

From a previous hearing...

A family court had earlier determined that there was insufficient evidence that the parents had abused or neglected the children. That decision was stayed until the appeals court could review it.

On Thursday, the three-judge appeals panel determined there was enough evidence and that the children should not be returned. The panel sent the case back to family court for further monitoring.

The court found that there were myriad other reasons that proved the need for continued protection services for the children. According to court records, both parents are unemployed and both suffer from unspecified physical and psychological disabilities.

The court found that both parents were themselves victims of childhood abuse and said neither “have received adequate treatment for their serious psychological conditions.” Heath Campbell, 37, cannot read and Deborah Campbell dropped out of high school before finishing the 10th grade, according to court records….

The judges considered a typo-riddled note signed by Deborah Campbell and given to a neighbor. In it, Campbell says that if she were found dead, her husband was to blame.

“Hes thrend to have me killed or kill me himself hes alread tried it a few times. Im afread that he might hurt my children if they are keeped in his care. He teaches my son how to kill someone at the age of 3,” the letter read in part.

The [Campbell] family made headlines when a ShopRite supermarket in Greenwich, near the family’s home in Holland Township in west-central New Jersey, refused to decorate a birthday cake with their son’s name.

A Wal-Mart in Pennsylvania wound up decorating the cake….

I love that movie. :)

But back on topic... Did the parents have any sense of history?

That Eva Braun had style!

The article was in the Wall Street Journal, well sourced. Our experiences are just that - our experiences which don’t cover the entire universe.

I find this a bit hypocritical, considering we have a PRESIDENT named Barack HUSSEIN Obama.

I have mixed feelings about this because I know the kids will suffer because of those names.

Yet... Here we have father with daughter MOON UNIT.

The difference is, I don’t believe that Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi or that turkey with her in the picture would be so deliberately cruel to their kids.

I’d rather procreate with Snooki than with that b*tch of a mother in the article.

Really? Snooki, who is prenant, will continue to appear on the show in the upcoming season.

Sure, she might name her kid something silly, but she won’t be naming it Mussolini or Il Duce, I’ll wager (she’s Italian).

she’s Italian

I am really disgusted for knowing this, but Snooki is most likely Hispanic.

She was born in Chile, adopted when she was six months old, and raised by Italian American parents.

I’ve never met anyone with the surname Hitler. It seems that name went out of fashion sometime back.

Don’t know any young Adolfs either.

I figure if I changed my name to Adolf X. Hitler I’d gain instant notoriety and thousands of marriage proposals from hot chicks all over the world!

Unfortunately, I’m afraid you’re right. And, if you could then manage to get yourself on death row, you’d get daily sacks of mail from female admirers.

Okay, it was in the WSJ and you say it was well sourced.

This is again only my own experience, but I see many articles citing bogus sources, biased sources, or outright made up garbage masquerading as sources. I have no doubt you read it, or that there were references to “experts”.

Maybe they really did find people with wacky Nazi nicknames in the Philippines (I kind of doubt it since knowledge of European history is limited).

Regardless, the idea there are insufficient surnames is patently absurd as they have all the hispanic surnames plus a wealth of native surnames. I’ve seen many directories in the Philippines, there is no significantly greater name conflict issue there than in most countries. Again, contrast it with Korea, where there are basically only 4 surnames.

Second, the idea nicknames somehow aid in identification in the Philippines is also absurd as nicknames don’t appear on birth certificates or the National Bureau of Investigation clearances, the two most common forms of government ID.

The nicknames are actually more likely to cause name conflicts than given names because there a few popular ones and they don’t match official documentation.

I know, you are just repeating what you read in the WSJ, and please, I am not attacking you or questioning your report of what you read. I believe you and believe you reported it accurately.

I am saying that, as recounted, the article or whoever the article is quoting are not living in Realville. If I could read the article myself, perhaps I could parse it or understand the context, but at least two of the contentions are just wrong.

It is an old article and we’d have to pay now to find it in the WSJ archives.

Still, I do recall that it cited cases of bad credit, and problems with the criminal justice system due to the confusion of names. And it did name the “victims” and their stories. That’s all I remember from it.
