My son brought a note home from his teacher, “Robert would of done better if he would of studied harder.” The principal called me and said that my reply to the teacher made her cry.

In the 70s, I was watching tv coverage of a teachers strike in Chicago, the reporter asked one picketer "what she did at the school". Her reply was priceless and I only wish that I had recorded it, she said, "I teaches English".
