Working dogs inducted as NCOs in fort ceremony

Fort Huachuca, AZ — Noncommissioned officers have been known to bark an order or show displeasure over the actions of a soldier.

But Thursday afternoon there really were some barking dog soldiers at a post movie theater.

On the Cochise Theater stage, nine individuals — seven humans and two military working dogs — were inducted as Army noncommissioned officers.

Slowly each person was called out and acknowledged as individuals who were to oversee soldiers, the junior enlisted personnel, to help them develop into future NCOs.
