The Justice Department told Florida election officials that they must stop their non-citizen voters purge. Florida argues it is not violating any law.
The Justice Department ordered Floridaâs elections division to halt a systematic effort to find and purge the stateâs voter rolls of noncitizen voters.
Floridaâs effort appears to violate both the 1965 Voting Rights Act, which protects minorities, and the 1993 National Voter Registration Act â which governs voter purges â T. Christian Herren Jr., the Justice Departmentâs lead civil rights lawyer, wrote in a detailed two-page letter sent late Thursday night.
State officials said they were reviewing the letter. But they indicated they might fight DOJ over its interpretation of federal law and expressed frustration that President Barack Obamaâs administration has stonewalled the stateâs noncitizen voter hunt for nine months.

Florida began the process nine months ago and the Feds delayed it until it was "too late".
Precisely. However, after making my Post 20, I decided to look up the law here:
(2)(A) A State shall complete, not later than 90 days prior to the date of a primary or general election for Federal office, any program the purpose of which is to systematically remove the names of ineligible voters from the official lists of eligible voters.
Unfortunately, it does look like the DOJ may have a point. The purge isn't "completed" as it says in the law, and the August 16th primary is a primary for Federal offices (to nominate the opponent of Sen. Bill Nelson, for one).
I guess I'll wait to hear Gov. Scott's response to see what the State's defense is.

Similar story in Tampa Tribune—
The Tampa Tribune is minimizing voter fraud as Liberal Media is required to do. You have to go to the bottom of this story to find that, in fact, illegal aliens have registered to vote in Florida.
Pasco Elections Supervisor Brian Corley said he received 13 names. Two have proved they are citizens, nine haven’t responded and two acknowledged they are not citizens, so Corley referred their names to the state attorney for possible prosecution.
Why are taxpayers funding a Department of Justice that is not enforcing America's laws? Either Eric Holder should be fired and/or the Department should be abolished.
Zero wants Marshal Law. Imagine Holder enforcing that?
Our counties records were purged quietly before the 2010 election by order of our SoS.
Too bad the order was made so public.
Stand with you FL and AZ. Stand strong!
What part of non citizens cannot vote in US elections does the DOJ not get? This is insane...it is pretty obvious that the right to vote is limited to citizens so if non citizens have gotten their name on the voting list they should be purged if not prosecuted. Holder needs to be impeached
marshal law= matt dillon on gunsmoke
martial law= government rule by means of force
From the article:
“But the citizenship data in many cases is out of date. That is, many people become citizens after they get their ID and then register to vote. But the highway safety database isnt updated.”
How on earth is that even possible? The system is broken, but that is by design.
Void all Florida votes.
OK, so have the purge not be in effect for the primary, but be in effect for the general. I think what the DOJ is going to try to argue is that the purge is too late for the primary, and the primary is less than 90 days before the general election, so you can't have it the day after the primary either.
Nothing would surprise me about this criminal rogue regime.

You’re exactly right! bttt
We need to email or otherwise contact everyone we know in the State of FL and ask them to do likewise!

Floridian or not, every freeper concerned about the integrity of our voting system should contact Governor Scott in Tallahassee.”

My bad spelling - will teach me to post when I should be napping. Sorry about that.
Please read post #19...then go to Matchett-PI's post # 36 which has a link to the Florida Governor's in-box.
This is to make it easy for you to send a strong message of support to Governor Scott personally in his fight with Attorney General HeinEric Himmler and his Washington DC Ministry of JustUs.
THIS IS A FREEP! This is what we're here for, correcto??? Punch that link and tell Governor Scott we voting conservatives are in the foxhole with him !!!
You don't have to be a Floridian to send your support to the Guv, either.
Thanks, Leni/MinuteGal...Florida
