Couple of thoughts here. First, this is a marketing gimmick and after all the "we're going to have a big announcement, a major character is gay!", having it turn out to be golden age Green Lantern is a major cop out. Might as well make it Red Tornado. After the fanfare, nobody will notice since he's a B-list character.
Second, such an arrogant creator. He's not worried about the customer reaction because anyone who doesn't like his stuff is stupid? I hope this twerp gets a lesson on why making customers unhappy matters. When he's living in a cardboard box and trying to sell his sketches of "gay spiderman" and "gay flash" at the bus depot, maybe he'll get the point.
Some people in the comics industry have enormous egos...interesting considering that 99.999999% of the American population doesn't even read comics...many of those don't even know that they are still published.
Notice how NONE of these huge box office blockbusters (Avengers, Dark Knight) don't feature 'in your face' sodomite characters? Gee...I wonder why?
