The musician known as "The Boss" touched on a nerve of widespread discontent as he addressed the global economic crisis in front of 58,000 people at the German capital's Olympic Stadium.
Speaking in German, he said: "In America, a lot of people have lost their jobs. But also in Europe and in Berlin, times are tough. This song is for all those who are struggling."
The 62-year-old singer then introduced "Jack of All Trades," a withering attack on bankers that includes the lyrics: "The banker man grows fat, working man grows thin."
In "Death to My Hometown", he sang about the "greedy thieves and robber barons" who "destroyed our families, factories and they took our homes". Springsteen's populist songs have a strong blue collar following in America and his latest album "Wrecking Ball," released in March, is an angry indictment of Wall Street and those responsible for the financial crisis...

The man is a hypocrit...like ALL liberals.
And he can’t sing to save his life. Not sure why people pay to here someone scream and make a fool of himself.
Springsteen is working the federal subsidies system with his farm. Bon Jovi gets federal agricultural subsidies for having some honey bees, same with Sam Donaldson, who has a ranch in Arizona or New Mexico.
And they are on the side of the “little blue collar man” aren’t they?

Tell me how you really feel about this nitwit.
I have no tolerance for him.

When Ann Romney sits astride her horse (in order to help her overcome an oft-fatal disease, mind you), they sneer and snipe.
” Wouldnt it be interesting to take a peek at Springsteens financial portfolio and see where he has stashed his millions ? “
Several entities rank his net worth at or over 200 million.
IIRC, “The Boss” pays practically NO property taxes in his beloved New Jersey, home of some of the highest property taxes in the country.
He manages to claim he’s a farmer or bee keeper, or some such. And as such, pays much lower tax rates on his huge, sprawling properties.
Hey Bruce, who’s “growing fat?”
Mark
“This sonofabitch is never happy is he?”
Well, no, but it wasn’t always that way. There was a certain joy in his early music and concerts (not including the sad ballads “wreck on the highway” eg) that was just infectious, really upbeat. The humor was mostly self-deprecating and light, no heavy political commentary at all. It was kind of like we were all a bunch of teenagers out on Saturday night in someone’s old pick-up truck with great music blasting on the radio.
